Apologies if you think I don't do the research, I did mention that you were just outside the five and hoping that your recent run of good form would propel you into the finals, didn't I? Unfortunately, the line suggesting you may surprise a few times along the way was an edited version of what I originally wrote. Stephen, the tireless editor of SAAFL Footy News, has to edit every single article in that publication and ensure it fits into the space provided. My original line was a lot longer and did suggest that if North Pines could sneak into the 5, they could surprise the a few teams in the finals, but the edited translation was completely different. Clubs have been invited to provide feedback and updates and anything they want included, but only a very few do.

As for Division 8, I was told that it potentially would include A&B grade clubs as of next year, but this did not come from the SAAFL and I assumed it was the case, time will tell whether it is.

I look forward to getting some updates from inside the North Pines club in the coming weeks Bigshow82.

Fair enough and good work owning up to being the writer. I am more than happy to give you some input on Nth Pines if you like. Just PM me what you would like to know.

Has a nice ring to it mate but I don't think you can go past yourselves and TTG as flag favorites with angle vale and Henley snapping at their heals.

Well done to the Smithfield footy club for a great game yesterday. It"s been a few years since I have been out there and the changes around the place are fantastic. The changerooms are very good, the clubrooms are awesome and you can see how hard the club has worked to come back to where they are. More importantly the players are rising to the challenge and make no mistake they will claim a big scalp or two very very soon. It was a good game played in high spirits, tough but fair, and in the end it was probably our depth that got us over the line. The Cats never gave up and in the end we were just happy with the two points. Good luck guys and I will watch with interest over the rest of the season to see who you knock off. =D>

Good win by North Pines yesterday..... When they have their full contingent playing, they are a very good running side.... Unfortunately consistency in getting their best team on the park each week is their biggest issue....

So at the halfway mark of the season and just heading into the back 9....

Mitchell Park - Heads above the rest..... 10-0, cant ask for any more than that!! Two quality forwards and a good midfield supply to them both!! Will be hard to stop now and in September!!
Tea Tree Gully - Starting to hit their straps.... Have had a few handy inclusions and expect a few more over the next 2 weeks.... If they keep sound (including their higher grades) will be right up there!
Angle Vale - Dropped a game they probably thought they had in the bag yesterday.... Will finish Top 5!!
Henley - Will be around the mark, but seem to struggle against the other Top 5 sides.... Got a great ruckman (played A's and B's a few years back)
Modbury - Starting to get their game together.... I predicted earlier a Top 5 finish and I think that is where they will be!
North Pines - Have taken a few big scalps this year, but then drop games they would expect to win.... Their own Inconsistency is their biggest threat!!
Flinders Park - Very handy team at home - will be fighting Modbury/Henley/Angle Vale/North Pines for 5th spot!
SHOC - Havent got the attack they once had with their big man up forward....7th/8th spot is probably where they will remain
Smithfield - Competitive at home - travelling is a little harder - May grab 1-2 more wins before the season is out as their form has improved, but 9th spot is theirs one would think.
Flinders Uni - 1-2 players are very very handy - however once a team gets a roll on, they struggle to stop them - Last Place!!

I think the most interest will be in Positions 3 - 7 for the remainder, Which is great for Div 7!!!

The margin of the Nth Pines v Angle Vale game would be a concern to all I would think, 97 points over the 3rd team is huge. Expect a few more surprises before the season is over.

I would have to say Nth Pines gave the Vale a true lesson in football yesterday with run. Beware to teams who get the pines when they are on fire.
Excellent game played in gr8 spirit.
As for the Vale alot to learn and need to remmember there is 18 0n 18 0n the field and you have to be accountable for the man you are standing. Some gr8 efforts by a few and i mean a few only probally 5 to 6 rocked up ready to play. The rest showed no respect to there opponent and the score line showed,a dissapointing game and not one the club wanted to drop. Be tough week as the Vale head down to MP for what will be a tuff challenge for them to bounce back from the efforts of yesterday.
I was surprised of the margin on the TTG and Henely game and margin on the MP and smithfield game. I too think smithfield will get a few big scalps in last half of the year.
Last but not least the percentage with the lost yesterday took a dive but has just keeped us in 3rd place and that is where we want to be end of the 2 or 3 as i think mp have 1st looking good at the moment.

Remember it was only last week that Nth Pines had to work hard for a 15 point win over Smithfield and no BPwizard the TTG-Henley result didn't surprise me one bit. The Gullies are just starting to flex and we havn't seen their best yet. We look forward to hosting you next saturday in what will be a cracker, regardless of yesterdays result. The one thing we know about the Owls is that they rebound better than most after a big loss.

At least now if anyone has any club milestone's etc. that they'd like to see in the sportsbeat, they have someone to pm.

Absolutely, I'm happy to help out any club, you give me some information, it makes it into Sportsbeat. Covering lower grades isn't easy, information is hard to find and not many people are interested in helping, but they're always quick to bag you.

Fair call Footy Chick, but my word limit isn't fixed, as the lowest grade covered, it depends if there is a C grade write up or anything else that needs to get covered. I submit under 550 words as required each week, sometimes it gets cut as low as 400. Thankless task for the editor, and hard for me not knowing what is going to make it or not.

How's the D7R shaping up, got a mate playing out at Henley, they look around the mark, but a few others looking strong?

I reckon Mitchell Park, Henley and Flinders Park will be fighting it out for the GF in Div7R.

Mitchell Park don't have height, fitness or even that much talent (sorry boys!) but they do have plenty of ticker and after years upon years of heartache and heavy losses - a burning desire to achieve.

North pines on fire. Could they finally get back to div 6, last time they were that close was when chook fowler was coach back in the early 2000s

I've seen Flinders Park and Mitchell Park first hand the last 2 weeks in Div 7R, both sides very similar, people might say it's only Div 7R, but they've got some real big bodies in the midfield and some guys up forward that can take a mark and kick goals. I noticed both sides like to leave a couple out at stoppages and work the ball out, then race off quickly, should be interesting to see them match up against each other. I'll see Henley this week, and let you know if they're around the mark too.

tactically they have a very astute coach whodeserves the success they are having at the moment
really hope after this year whether they win loose or draw he gets the chance at an a grade team
been over shadowed for to long and needs a club to take a chance on him
he would do great especially if he can get a good right hand man because to be honest, that is the position that makes a difference
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one
