This is true Buzz, and he keeps telling people he is McKernan...disgraceful !

It's ok, I think Macca was 41 or something when PNU won the div 3 flag DE ;)

Also a fact, is that we went down to depth blessed Seaton by 10 points at Seaton, hardly alarm bells ringing at Dolphin Park.

Agree mate. Jarman should play, he would add something to any side so why not.

He just shouldnt play against us though... :D

heard a rumour he was going to be making his maiden A1 A grade appearance this week due to good form in the scoobi dooes. what his reason for going back, not getting an A grade gig or something else?

He kicked 3 goals and was named best on ground against TTG.
Have to be another reason, because i also heard he was going playing A's this week?
Either way Para Hills will be stoked with Hanson and Thach back in the side.

The money's going somewhere!

Our club is fine. Paying players big $$$ is not the answer. Rewarding guys who do the right thing, and making the club a good place to be around is the way to go. We are on the right path, imo. We were a basket case 4 years ago, almost ended up in D5.

The main reason for the basket case job felcn is gone and is now a problem now for 67 Clubs not just 1 :D :D took you long enough to rid yourself of the problem though. Seems like all go since the problem was eradicated and send packing. Looks a thriving and much happier place since then.

my limited understanding is that the bar is the community clubs and that it is divided in 3, Portland, PACC and the community club. we drink more then the cricket club, but some of our profits are lost there.
Our fees are cheap in comparison to other clubs, $60 to play seniors if your a student or under 21. with such a young club alot of money gets lost there.
Portland also doesnt have the luxury of using there oval as a carpark as seaton do which would definately be a massive cash booster allowing you to buy the likes of wanders etc etc.
so that is where alot of the cash goes.

Sorry Fisty but thats no excuse for where that club is sitting and where it should be sitting. With success comes money, and sometimes it costs a little to get alot. Portland is and will remain to be the yo-yo of A3-A4 unless they take a gamble and spend some of the coin we have all contributed over the past years!

Unfortunately when you buy in players though Buzz alot of them dont hang around for too long. You dont always get people with the club in mind either, like blokes who dont come in after a game and wait out in their car for their girlfriend to run in and grab their special little envelope

Look at guys that go play in the hills and play for rubbish hills clubs like BRIDGEWATER and get paid the big money and leave after 1 year. They realise even though they might get big money success is more important. Money can only buy so much in footy. When you arent successful the money will run out but when you are, you generate more money and you attract better players.Take a good look at Goodwood they dont pay shit load for players but quality players want to play for you cos you are successfull. A clubs reputation goes along way when it comes to players playing for you

The depth at Seaton showed last week DE with As up by 10 pts ( 10 extra scoring shots ) Bs up by 10+ goals, Cs up by 8 goals.
We're not depth blessed but we are certainly blessed with more than what you have.
Good luck to Jarman if he plays, its alot harder coaching & playing & it will be interesting seeing their results in the next few weeks while he's doing both.

Absolutely, I was around Ainslie in the ACT a few years ago. They are apparently the second richest club outside the AFL behind Southport in Qld. They pay big bucks and fly blokes in who don't train with them. They (as I understand it today) haven't won a premiership, despite "poor" clubs being in the same comp doing quite well. I note that Shirley from Adelaide Crows is with them this year.

Ray Hayes almost busted Ingle Farm back in the 80's buying them a premiership. He was coach, so can't be totally blamed, however there were lots of people happy to get into Div 1 in SAFA only to return to Div 2 with interest shortly after.

So it goes to show that money doesn't buy you long term success! I'd be more inclined to repay the guys who stick around the club through thick and thin than "Johnny come lately's".

where is CBC playing today = I am in Adelaide for 2 weeks and would like to watch D Jarman play.
Also, is Roo playing for PAC, would like to see him play as well.
I would think D. Jarman still knows how to kick a goal.

Jarman playing against Kilburn on Bartels Road
Roo due to play in Round 5 - next Saturday by all accounts.
Could be your lucky fortnight.

A PAOC wont probably tell you about Roo until the last minute
but I remember something about Round 5 and the 'Roo is due'

Didnt see our lads today, but i hear they were disappointing.

WTF was the story with Iggies and Seaton ? Do we engrave Iggies name on the cup now and save everyone wasting their time ?

With what i've seen so far this season Iggies are the team to beat, they were superb today & gave Seaton a football lesson.
Gonna be hard to topple.

I was there and Seaton were shocking as well as Old Iggies were great. Insipid effort and looked like they had just fallen out of the pub and the umpiring well just leave that one alone. Women should really stay in the kitchen after seeing that and the bloke was as bad. Did not effect the outcome but just absolutely horrific and the SANFL Umpires that they send to D3 games is wasting the time of everyone. Have seen 7 games of D3 Footy this year and every one has been ruined by these pimply faced kids umpiring men and think they run the entrie game. Umpires - take note, you are there to Umpire and not 'Be the Game' as you are trying to be.

Unfortunately its something we have to adapt to aswell as clubs supplying boundary umpires like we had to on the day. The 2 boundary umpires couldn't throw the ball higher than 1.5-2mtrs in the air & sometimes only 2-3 mtrs inside the boundary.
I was very dissappointed in our club ( Seaton ) not seeking someone earlier in the week in respect to giving us a more professional person on the day, i take my hat off to the kid for trying & improving on the day but he was out of his League.
Old Iggies were fantastic, they came prepared mentally, physically & didn't lose focus on what they were out there achieve unlike Seaton who embarrassed themselves & their supporters & most of all their club. The coaching panel were simply outcoached by a more formidable outfit & i hope our players take some responsibility like our coach has ( opologising to the club & supporters back at club )
It may well be the wakeup call needed but it shouldn't take an insipid 17 goal hiding to do it.
