I didnt know big Phil played out at Smithfield. The young fella Reggie I think may have played juniors out there but definately played at least a year of seniors for Smithfield. His older brother David was keen to try get the clearance through so he could play this week against his old side but it didnt happen.

Just picked up on that, yeah, Reggie played some seniors, interesting to see them out at North Pines. How long has Reggie played out there for?

Played 1 game last year and hurt his ankle I was told. First game for the year this weekend. Looks capable.

While I hate to bag someone putting together a list like this, never an easy job, I would have thought (from a Henley perspective) Loveder and Bennetts should have been in ahead of Boucher and Bellingham. Bouch and Zac are both very good players at this level and look to be having good seasons, and granted I've seen very little football this season. But Bennetts would have to be the best ruckman in the Division, possibly next next couple of higher divisions as well (when not injured). Loveder would just about be the Sharks best and most consistent players over the past 5-6 years, he rarely has a bad game. A bad game for Hooker is anything less than about a dozen marks at CHF - if he could kick further than 35m he'd probably have played 6 years of D1 rather than D6/7. Just my 2 cents, like I said, picking these lists is never easy.

Totally agree Shark Hunter, particularly in relation to Dave Loveder. Absolute star, and as you say rarely plays a bad game, in one of the more difficult positions to play. I think he could've easily played a lot of B grade footy if the senior coaches had a bit of faith in him. He's maintained his form despite his age too.

Thank you Cash 123 for repeating what I had said. There's a few at every club I guess that don't get opportunities others get... Hard to criticise Henley given the record of their A and B grade I guess... but has meant some decent footballer's have been stuck in their C's. Depth any club would be envious of, particularly yours Cash 123 which may be exposed this week.

With all the on field incidents this season, I urge all Div 7 clubs to keep playing hard, but fair. The competition for spots will gain momentum in the last 10 rounds so playing the ball should be the focus. It is up to all of us to set the standards and keep Div 7 the respectable comp it is. Good luck to all teams tomorrow.

he averages 80 goals a year
he will kick at least 30 plus against flinders uni this year
their are another two if not more than that teams who would struggle against big forward
a mid field shoving the ball down your throat all day
and again the the best captain in the league to help him out
i believe morgs you were just board when you wrote that

I would feel pretty confident that if you two were asked to select a side to play in Div 7 from all the teams and you had access to any player, Luke McDonnell would be in that side and well ahead of any forward on that list.

Maybe on this years strict statistical output he is a bit down but he is still second on the goalkickers leaderboard, averages 5 goals a game and is more than deserving of a spot in the top 25.

Also think Matty Davo and Stiff were unlucky.

you are right mate
i would pick big luke every time
but the list was based on most influential, which to me is who has the biggest bearing on a game
the fact that the ball is rammed down their the amount of time it is,you could just about put browny down their and he will kick a few
the most prised players are in the middle doing the hard work and getting him the ball
to me big adam was always the prize player because of his influence on a game, not through skill but with attitude, strenght and the ability to make every one around him stand tall with the knowledge he was at their back
thats no disrespect to luke but facts
as for big nat,i have been involved in footy for40 years and like us all we have seen great leaders but with clubs we are assosiated with and those against us and including some of the names i have been assosiated with both here and in victoria he is the best for a range of reasons that have nothing to do with ability but the fact hthey are leaders,to lead
yank man,dont sell him short
your team this year is well above all the rest at this stage and alot of that is to do with who you have got at the den and who the others dont have when it comes to leadership
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one

If I sold Nat short deeman, he wouldn't be skipper.I know what he possesses and he has taken his leadership to another level this year. Finally he gets to lead a quality team rather than carrying them and he is still learning to deal with that. Round 9 results, Nat Mac 15, Luke Mac 9. Reckon you saw some of it but it was a fair bit off our best footy. Damn byes.

did get to see acouple of games today,MP v FLINDERS UNI and then to see WOODY STH v UNITS
best part of the day was getting to spend some quality time with two quality blokes that have forgotten more about footy than most will ever know
how rogo has never been brought into the coaching ranks amazes me,best footy brain i have ever known and the big fella batesy is exactly in the same boat, just pure quality
nat again proved today what i have said all along and no offence coach but he is the captain because of quality and some were born to lead not because some one picked them
pleasing for me was big adam down back and to see harro having fun and enjoying the game
i will have to get into rogos and baters ear if i go for another gig, sure we could do some real damage somewhere

Born to lead no doubt, but more importantly still smart enough to learn. :D Rogo's 1st game this year but I would love to have seen him in his prime, would have been high quality that's for sure.

Some interesting results yesterday. Flinders Pk over Henley, and look out for Gullies. A big 11 goals from Chambo. All they lacked was quality forward and if he stays sound and Uncle returns they are going to take a power of beating. If Vansoest comes back too then it could be game set and match.

It was definately a good return for his (Chambo's) first game Yank Man.... But dont deflect the attention off of your lads... 9-0... Absolutely flying and firm flag favourites.... Yes as I have mentioned TTG will be a stronger team in the second half of the year (a couple more to play in the coming weeks), but you cant go past the ladder leaders in Mitchell Park (yourselves).... Playing really good footy.... Also Mounty was rested (coming back from a niggle) yesterday too, so having him back in will be an added bonus!! Should be a great finish and a very close Top 5 in Div 7 this year

Dave has played C grade mostly by choice. He has a couple of young kids and his parnter works shift work as a nurse so he can really only train once per week at best. He won a B grade B&F for us in about 2001, then went to Canberra for about 4-5 years and has played Cs since he came back. Probably missed his window to play a lot of A grade during that period he was in ACT, aged about 22-26. He still did play a few A grade games back around 2001 but lacked a bit of strength for that level. Very, very good D6 or D7 player though.

All I can say is that having Chambo up there made a huge difference and took a lot of pressure off us other guys in the forward lines.
