Read elsewhere then if it doesn't suit you, "Porkchop"

As much as i hate to admit Porkchop does have a point for the best the SAAFL has to offer
there is not much said on this forum about the players or clubs
most people dont even put in tips .... compared to other forums this one is way behind
and i have no idea why there are great players and some awesome teams and no one whats to talk about them

i would say that the clubs and players involved in D1 let the standard of footy on offer each week speak for itself. IMO some the best footy you could see week in week out at no cost [so make sure you have a drink and visit the BBQ]. great local footy on your doorstep

I just think that the banter on the other forums is great players and spectators arranging to meet at games have a beer
together and get to know each other and just in general enjoying each others company is great
and that does not happen in div1

the number of player and spectators on the other div forums would be a small % of people involved in those divs. i believe the respect of other clubs and players in D1 to each other is as good as any division

It's all about survival now!!

And we have yet to play Henley, Goodwood or Gepps yet!

Mate im not going to make excuses BUT no Slater.. Motley ... Jordan...and Dillon Jessen did his knee 5 min into the second quarter
the boy boys were under the pump real early and half way into the second quarter where only down by 4 points
then henley kicked 5 goals to nothing and really turned it on in the second half
But the hawks seemed to be not interested after half time maybe the Jessen news is as bad as it looked
As much as it i hate to say it they are not a top 5 side
and yes Henley are the real deal

One thing i think you are right with is its all about survival.
You have played Henley & you only got beaten by 4 goals 3 weeks ago ( very lucky )
No i have no intentions of slagging your club, coach or players, i think its supporters like you that makes it hard for the club with continuous sledging.

Yeah it really looks like Henley are stamping their authority on the competition at the moment. Probably would've taken it out last year had it not being for their horror run of injuries right at the end of the minor round. the guys they've added to their side this year seem to more than have made up for what they've lost. they've got my vote to take out the flag at the moment. but come finals time, i'd hate to rule out the september specialists in goodwood too.
Port districts and shoc to be relegated, with gaza to stage a mid season revival to just miss out on the finals.
Henley, Goodwood, Tea Tree Gully, Gepps Cross, Salis Nth. That's my top 5. remember it!!!(so the chrystal ball says anyway)

TTG just scraped over the line against Gaza. Some very ordinary umpiring which went Gaza's way most of the time. Young Josh Bolmeyer was brilliant in the forward lines for the Gullies. He looks to have a very big future ahead of him.

Very good performance by Modbury against Goody Saints and were unlucky not to get the points.... hawks played the better footy for 3 quarters 3 questionable/terrible decisions inside goody’s 50 resulted in goals. The only difference was in the ruck. To the credit off our 2 18 year old ruckman who are about 6 foot battled tirelessly against the 2 7 foot giants. Lost a key wingman in the 2nd qtr who was playing well and that hurt a bit also. The 22 point margin is flattering to the way Goody IMO.....

Some good signs for the Hawks and have another big test this week.
