Absolutely needed a correction, but lets not over correct. Last year the interpretation was that players could take possession and have 2 to 3 steps before they were deemed to have prior opportunity. Players exploited the rule and it led to congestion. Today it was like every player who took possession was deemed to have had prior opportunity. Hopefully it settles next week.
The way they played the rule at times last year made it a complete disincentive to tackle at times. Some sides played borderline basketball tactics to great effect.
Payneham and Tanunda had a fun hit out. Payneham up by a few but I suspect if everyone with a surname Westhoff wasn't at Adelaide Oval celebrating the 250 things would have been very tight
