Theres a rumour doin the circles now that North Pines want to merge with Paralowie! Only in the seniors though. Either they merge or fold their seniors.

Carey18 Merging with North Pine might be the go as I have heard that most of the residents around your area have complained to the Council since hearing the news. Also you may need their licquor licence if you loose yours!

Yes it is correct, Adelaide Uni are the only Div 1 side never to be relegated in the history of the Amateur League, and also we do not to pay players (although as CJ said, a few get sponsored for their subs of about $140). We have 8 teams (I think we are the oldest and biggest Football club in Australia, and therefore the world?), and after A grade (Div 1), B Grade (Div 1R) and C Grade (Div 6), the other 5 teams are basically run individually with their own squads, like the FGA, with no definitive ranking order etc. For example, when the FGA won 4 Flags in a row in D7R & D8R from 2000 to 2003, they probably would've beaten every Uni side except the A Grade. Everybody at Uni is guaranteed a game, as we have compulsory stand-downs in the 1st half of the season (except A & B grade) where everybody misses a game or two so that all new players get to play.

Of course players are helped out with work where appropriate, but that's the whole club as a community, not just A Grade, and that is normal at every Football club - contacts, networking etc.

Make sure you guys read all my posts from page 5, as there's been a lot of jibberish since then!

The FGA famously win finals easier than minor round matches without their umpire, but Adelaide Lutheran & Elizabeth were just better sides in '04 & '05.

A good coach bringing some good players still does not explain how Elizabeth went from last to first in D6R in 1 year!

And CJ, I am the famous Blacks Club Legend, Bobby Neil! :D

Bob - well you tell us your theories on how Elizabeth did it?

If we can accept your players don't get paid, why can't you accept Elizabeth's don't?

Its because i went went from A grade to Reserves that year. And yes we had 22 great players come into the club in 05. And i can tell u after 04 season our then Agrade side were very happy to have a side come in on top of us to push us to B grade. 2005 was the best thing to ever happen to our club. We went from just about broke to now rolling in cash.

Also if u look at the 2nd half of the 2004 seasons results we did very well. If we had the same results in the 1st half we would have made finals easily. B grade had also improved, going close a few games and winning their only game against Lockleys. Coincedently i played As and Bs that game so thats why they won. Off the back of my 4 last quarter goals. :P
So we had some momentum goin into 2005, and the players that came in just topped it off.
