A possible solution....

# div 7 to become a 6 team a-grade competition
# all teams play each other 3 times across the 18 rounds
# the finals would be for the top 4 sides

# in 2013 div 6 could have a bye with only 9 sides (its a nice rest for players)

# in 2014, 3 sides will come up to div 6 making it 10 teams, only 2 sides go down to div 7, but this leaves 5 sides only remaining in div 7 2014

# therefore with the hope that "wingfield" can maintain a second side in 2013 in a c-grade comp, it then can go up into the div 7 in 2014 to become the 6th agrade side of 2014

# or if wingfield fails, a possible marion or even an ovingham? could come in 2014 to div 7

Speaking to a mate involved, Flinders Uni 's focus is naturally on improvement. They will play in whatever div the SAAFL put them in.

Make it categorical. No ifs, no special rules, no maybes or grey areas, no "we wont be as strong next year".

You finish in the bottom two. You're going down. Make the GF, you're going up. That should be the end of it really.
