going one better in a weaker comp doesn't mean they where a better side. Flinders park and portland would of smashed everyone this year. look at mitcham lost a handful of a graders and played finals. smosh 2011 side was a better side then 2012.

Try explaining that to some Seaton morons who can't get their heads around it, they thought they were a much improved side in Div3 but like InTheChair they all had their heads buried deep in the sand.

Stating that Flinders and Portland would have smashed everyone this year is pure supposition and is only your opinion.....and that's okay......SMOSH and Portland were 1 and 1 and it was more the Lions bad kicking that lost them the a final to Portland in 2011. IMO SMOSH was a better side in 2011 than Portland anyway. The coach has stated that it was just as strong a comp for the top eight sides in particular as it was in 2011 abeit the gap from top to bottom reflected a wider margin. I think his opinion would show better insight than you appear to have regarding the level and intensity of the competitions in those two years.

Comparing any football sides from 2011 and 2012 is purely academic as it can't be difinitely measured. No doubt there was talent in 2011 but in terms of the team playing to a planned structure and its consequent performances in 2012 they were clearly a better side nothwithstanding the player strength in 2011....IMO...... Kilburn was the measuring stick and they would have more than matched Portland and Flinders had they still been in Div 3...

As for your comment regarding Nick Martin that he should have played more A Grade games, tell me "Kickinit" ....exactly what position would you have played Nick Martin in 2012 as it apprears you are affiliated with the Club.

Heard on the grape vine #10 from scotch think name is Dan Nicholson has been offered good coin to head to Langhorne creek. The young fella carved up in the finals last season!

Mitcham v Unley would be a bigger rivalry than Unley v Scotch. Especially since a couple of Mitcham juniors moved across Belair rd to the dark side

If we haven't already, we will be requesting a rnd 1 v Scotch at home (Ladies Day), which was a huge success last year and Mitcham for ANZAC Day.

I disagree SMOSH were a better side than Portland, if they were they would of finished above Portland but they did not.

Oh FFS, Salisbury and EP haven't played each other in how long (sorry I'm not up to speed on CDFA rivalries) and Unley and Scotch may have recently built a rivalry from a Grand Final appearance but it's not a 30 year plus play for sheepstations ongoing rivalry like PNU and Athelstone.

footy chick its a northern suburbs thing it goes back to under 15s-17s to current anyone around my age still playing for salisbury or eastern park would remember
