Surely he would at least play 'B' grade out there, i think a couple more of your boys might go back there and have a crack at Division 1.

Trent would definatly play B grade at EP and wouldnt surprise if he got a few A grade games as he will only get better and Dusty likes giving the younger lads a go and most have held their spots when given the chance.

Having played some reserves in Mildura i'd rate that a better standard than div 5 A's (played both last year against the premiers in both comps). So i'd suggest div 1r would be aswell.

Somebody that now's what they are talking about, can't blame a kid for going back to his home club to have a crack at Division 1.

Trent is also still young enough to play U/18s and has mentioned that he may want to play with his mates next season. Hard to beleive he has just turned 17 yet has played the last 2 seasons in seniors and done very well. Could not blame him for going back to EP to have a crack at div 1 and still be able to play U18s with his mtes.

Totally agree, looking at the team lists and best players for Eastern Park he has given a fair few 16/17 year olds a crack and obviously has paid dividends, PJ and Biggsy are two that spring to mind immediately.

disapointing year yes, but no overhaul needed!!!!
we have key forwards...
on ballers everywhere
probably one of the best ruckmen in the comp and a promising young ruckmen..
good defence....
we'll pick up more players next season and im very interested to see who they appoint next season...
if i was a coach coming to plympton id be very happy with what we have and what we can get...

Gee WUB thought we had all that this year onballers, forwards, ruckmen, good defenders and we shouldnt have even made finals. So I would love to know why u think we failed this year. IMO there is a massive change in attitude needed in alot of players who I think I stuck in the "its only div 5 footy attitude and just expect they will train half pace and rock up sat and play at there best. Fix attitude and results may well be different obviously SymOnds was not able to do that!

Any other news on Coaches for Div 3. There has been a few posts in the SAAFL newsletter and so on for some Div 3 spots?
Mitchell and Fitzroy have parted ways since the end of the season.

Phillips was at Virginia this year, but aparantly Two Wells are looking for a new coach, so the Mitchell rumour may be more of a fit.

Because I know how hard it is to get full commitment from players when they don't get paid, it's not as though you can dock their pay for not training etc. We don't pay anyone and I was under the impression that you guys were in the same boat.

not saying you are wrong because i dont even know what league mildura is in but from what i have heard i thought country footy reserves in general was a pretty low standard? from what ive heard, in the country you will get the guns who are paid big $$$ but then there is a lack of depth.

i know when we had trials against birdwood a few years ago, our Bs would win quite easily and our As would lose quite easily.

Has Mitchell ever coached or played in the country before.

Mitchell played a season with United in about 93 or 94. Was always getting into scraps both on and off the field. He has definately been around a bit and if I were Two Wells I would be very careful if they are indeed talking to him. Not the sort of coach they would be looking for I wouldn't have thought.
