from what i saw of hope valley they r a vastly improved side on last yr with 4-5 very handy inclusions. they had pretty much a whole new midfield who made heccies look second rate even though heccies won the ruck all day. their hardness and attack on the footy won them the game.
they play their oval very well, although i do suspect next time when the game is played at daly it'll be a lot closer. It's a well known fact Heccies don't play small ovals very well(e.g houghton & WC games last yr)
For mine HV have set the standard for 2008 and are the team to beat.

Good win for Westminster with big adam ohara already making his presence felt

Hey SD21, saw Applebey kicked 7 for ya, if he can keep his feet on the ground (space cadet) he might be good value for you, really struggled to get his head into gear out at Broadview. Has been between these clubs many time before as i can remember.

Yeah he was pretty good for us on saturday. Played all his juniors at Hope Valley and played for us for a few years in seniors. Then he left because he didn't like the coach. It's great to have him back and he was a very handy late pick up

Reunited with his brother? If you are referring to Luke Hann, he had a very good game on the weekend - was given 2nd best, but could have easily got best on ground. Will be an asset this year.

As far as heccies go for this year, I think they will be quite good on a big ground. They still had some tall players that could easily dominate in the air, but I think on saturday we just dominated on the ground, and had too much up forward. Was a good game of footy to watch.
I'm proud of you fellas. You all kept your head on a swivel, and that's what you gotta do when you find yourself in a vicious cock fight!

Both teams seem to have a few new recruits, sometimes one team may take a game or two longer to gel. Likely to get it together on your own turf this week against Lockleys.

Good work in getting in the B's best, or was that your bro?

Is Ernie Icolaro still playing for you?

Ha ha, no. I was too embarrassed to celebrate after missing one from just outside the goalsquare. The old checkside doesn't work if you hit the ball fair square in the middle of your foot. The goal umpire handed duties over to the boundary umpire for that one!!

Hectorville will still finish top 3, don't worry about that. They are a very good side with some big units. The real test against Heccies is at Daly oval. The loss of Platten from their midfield might be a bigger loss than first thought. I almost feel sorry for Lockleys, facing Hectorville at Daly Oval after a big loss isn't ideal...

Woops, my bad, was told otherwise. Geez, $250 and fewer bruises too. Just asking, 'cos it was his aunty who gave me my first taste of home-made gnocchi when I was a little tacker. YUM!
