4 floggings over the weekend. The top teams are well and truly secure now, it's just a matter of who finishes where at the end of the minor round. The team in top spot seems to change almost weekly at this point.

I just want to give a big thumbs up to Flinders University Football Club, it's fair to say they've struggled over the past 2 seasons but no matter how things are going with this club they are always smiling and even managed to help us out with some umpires on the weekend when we had ours pull out at the last minute so for this I thank them.

Onfield they never give up and keep chasing and tackling to the final siren no matter how bad the scoreboard is looking which is a credit to Ross and the people he has down there. I wish them all the best for the remainder of the year and hope that elusive win is sooner rather than later. =D>

It was a great day for Mitchell Park on Saturday, one of the more emotional days I have been involved in, such a happy group of people and it was good to see a great turn out for Joe. And then did he turn it on! 6 goals and countless more set up from the great man he really did turn back the clock.

Thanks to the Modbury C Grade for a good day, good bunch of blokes and went in hard all day. I have seperated out the C Grade because I am going to have a bit of a crack at their D Grade.

Have a look in the mirror you blokes, the guys that are clearly capable of playing in their C Grade or higher I mean. Beating up on teams who are not competing at your standard whilst your club mates are in turn getting flogged is pretty poor form at best and cowardly at worst.

I can understand wanting to play with your mates, or having one last season with some seasoned veterans (like SHOC D Grade) but half of the Modbury D Grade would be 25 or under and have plenty of football ahead of them. Take the top 10 players from the D Grade and replace the bottom 10 from the C Grade and I reckon they would be more than competitive.

When you have players in the C Grade saying things like "they don't give a ****" and "they just want to always win and have it easy" and "to be honest I am sick of it, so frustrating" to their opposition you have a cultural problem.

If I was at Modbury I would pick the best side, and if any player didn't want to turn up then seeya later. Might hurt short term but it would set a standard and culture that would set the club up for future success in the lower grades.

Apologies for sticking my nose in but I really felt for the blokes in the C Grade on Saturday.

I said the same things a few weeks ago mate after watching Mawson lakes play Modbury. There is a lot of sandbaggers playing in the D grade who could easily step up and play C grade and help out.

I got shouted down by a few on here, but it just surprises me to see a group of people allowed to do this. I honestly dont understand what a club gets out of it. Im sure FootySmart will be able to fill us in.

Morell you’ve got my blood boiling with that post about Modbury. I’m getting sick of players dictating to clubs what they get and where they play. Where’s the old adage that it’s a privilege to wear your clubs jumper. It shouldn’t matter whether you’re young or old, fat or skinny, fit or broken down, played one game or 300, black, white, green, blue, have knocked off the coaches wife (well maybe that does matter) for mine you should play where you picked which is best suited to your ability. Now I understand some old fellas in the twilight of their careers sometimes need to take it a bit easier on their bodies in later life, but for young blokes to say it’s too hard to go up a grade and don’t want to go up makes my stomach turn. This type of cancer has stricken the strongest ever SAAFL club in Adelaide Uni and seems to be weeding itself around to other clubs. Look at SHOC for instance, they pick their best 21 for their A grade, their next best 21 for their B grade and so on and so on to their E grade. THAT’S why they are so powerful at the moment, and will win at least 3 premierships this season and be arguably become the strongest club in the SAAFL. No one there is bigger than the club and no one dictates where they can and can’t play.

So to Modbury’s C grade I take my hat off to you blokes and wish you well as you struggle through the rest of the season with little support. To Modbury’s D grade I say, you are another side I hope gets knocked out in straight sets come finals time or even better get smashed by SHOC’s TRUE D grade in the GF. Couldn’t happen to bigger bunch of bad blokes.

On a lighter note. Congratulations to my old team Mawson Lakes on a $1.5million redevelopment that is going to be happening down there. :D

This is a development for Mawson Lakes the suburb not football club initially. It's a project funded solely by UniSA & Endeavour College for their use with the plan to have local sporting clubs like us (fingers crossed) use it down the track. I do believe new clubrooms and lights will be built on it. It's an exciting development/project for the community which like I said hopefully we can be a part of.

Looking forward to this weeks game Anderson. Big game for our clubs. You blokes are the form side at the moment and we gave you your only loss when you blokes were rusty. Huge challenge for us and just hope the weather stays the way its forecasted.

I know Footy Chick says that the Top 4 are set and the results went that way on the weekend but did anyone see the TTG vs North Pines result coming? Ive head that the spiders are picking up a few in the 2nd half of the season and could make a late run for the finals.

North Pines just had to brush off some cobwebs, they'll show some venom in the back 9.

Is that the much travelled Willie Sansbury I see in North Pines side? The ex Two Wells Rooster might not be getting any more youthful, but I'd think he'd be more than handy at this level and dare say he's not out there for nothing.

A little more spice added to the game on Saturday - I'd say this will be discussed

Unless they have some white knight I wouldn't think there's too much coin floating around North Pines way mate.

I did hear that TTG had 14? blokes they would not pick because there fees were not paid up. Not sure if this was over the 4 sides or just from the C & D grade but may have had some bearing on the game being so one sided.
I expected Nth Pines to win this game but did not think it would have been by so much.

Not sure if its a white knight but I do hope they can maintain what they have otherwise it could go pear shaped in years to come as you so often see.

I Believe 6 or 7 players had to play both games, this would definately had a bearing on the result. Don't know about the fees issue, but i know the D grade have been struggling for numbers all year.
