No, all good LMA. Next year we are going to play Round 1 as a Boxing Day blockbuster - closest weekend of footy to the actual event... ;)

Make sure you have the christmas decorations up still and a recording of the Test Match to play on the big screen to make it feel genuine :D

i'm not sure when the knee to head happened so cant comment on that.
Just on the report #9 didn't really do much i didn't think.
I would think he will get off, as he has been reported for striking but seemed to not do anything besides pull blokes off.
Both #27 and our player involved in that scufflle were swinging so both in the wrong there.
Good hard game of footy but Pooraka wont win games of footy trying to chip the ball around if their skills were like the were on the weekend. Just made to many errors trying to pinpoint that kick IMO.[/quote]

yeah, it happened, whether it was intentional is another thing, fair call on the chipping around call, need to go direct for mine.
That Rowe fellow will streak in for the medal if he keeps up current form, hope he got his ball back on sat after the game, pretty sure he brought his own!!
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

Portland 1 win - 2 losses ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

thats ok mate, we have lost to the 2 teams that are currently favs for the flag by very small margins you have beat two div 3 bound sides and got the sh!t kicked out of you by the only decent side you have played so far. lets just wait for more than 3 rounds of footy to decide who is the pride of the peninsula

surely you are a favourite for the flag judging by the percentage of ppl that have voted for you to make the GF at 23% and the next team is at 10%. Not having ago just geneal chat piccachu no need to burst out some of your electronic waves and cut down everyone voicing their opinion

Portland the pride of the peninsula now, especially after last weekend when PD smashed by PAC. You blokes are easily the flag fav's and, should not be downplaying it. Like PAC being the fav's in D2, you guys are a certainty to be heading to D2 as all the new guys like Prior all blend in.

No way are Portland favourites Davo, look at the poll last year who was favourite ( Seaton ) & where did they end up 6th.
The problem with these polls is opposition supporters love to put pressure on the opposition by voting them to win the flag & leaving there team out of the lime light & away from the pressure that can affect them.
Some sides can handle pressure & obviously some can't, portland are not in the 5 & don't deserve to be as yet but i'm sure they will come good in a very even competition very soon, theres still 15 games to go.
There would not be a stand out team as yet in Div3.

Prior hasn't done much as yet either, maybe he hasn't blended in yet.
By the way Davo Portland winning 1 out of 3 games thus far, how has that earn't them favourtism?
I thought you'd be pumping up your own tyres at Districts.

Most open division IMO, the best attacking side averages less than 90 per match, top 6 seperated by percentage, 9th is a win off top, you can't get much more even than that, there will upsets aplenty.

The closest ive seen a division in a long time. It's interesting how the 1's in the entire division are so close yet the lower (magoo's and C grade) are very much lop sided.

I think that most clubs will take a few weeks to settle their sides though in the grades. I know that our club is still yoyo-ing players between grades as we try to find out where people are best fitted and late starters earn their way up the grades. I'm sure things will settle down as the year goes on...
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

V good point. TBH, i don't think the division will be able to maintain this eveness for much longer...you'll probably find that margins will start to get out a little more between top and bottom as clubs settle their sides. For instance - we had 7 changes from pooraka-golden grove. Especially for clubs with new coaches, its takes a while to work out the best fit and find some stability.

Have been most impressed with Pooraka and Golden grove coming up from div 4 int eh gaems we've palyed against them. I know the coreline agaisnt GG looks a little one sided but it was far from it - there was only 2 points in it at halftime. And pooraka knocked us off!

Never heard of this Rowe bloke? Where's he come from...? Few big calls kicking around about best wingman in the comp...

i think he is from westies, he played in a trial for Phos 2 years ago against us and absolutly dominated, only seen him once but from that experience i think the call about being the best wingman in the comp isnt far off

Played for PHOSC the last 2 years and has been runner up in the league medal both years pretty quick thumping kick not always the most accurate (sounds like Mitcham saw that on the weekend).

Done a league pre-season coupled with the fact he is a Personal Trainer he will be very fit.

I would suggest at times he will create havoc for opposition sides this year.

Matty Rowe will be a great pick up for any Div 3 side. The Phantoms would be very disappointed they could not lure him back as he would be a very handy player even at Div 1 level.

Would be great to see him go head to head with Cibich (Smosh) or a Cocchiaro(Portland).

Great game of footy and Pembroke almost managed to snatch the game late
Fraser Pinkney would have to be one of the best ruckmen in div 3 along with (Ohara/Perkins) and was a class above the PH ruckmen and when resting forward managed to kick 3 or 4 goals
PH were really impressive and moved the ball well and despite not having a tall forward line manage to get all there goals through there smalls
How Pembroke didnt try and lock down Thach and Bamford has me stunned. easily the top 2 players on the field for PH Saturday and they gave them plenty of drive through the halfbackline and midfield all game
I expected Pembroke to get up easily but the comp is quite even.
Though Ingerson and Creeves played well for the Kings and despite missing alot of targets Goodwin toiled hard for PH too

Excellent game of footy played on the weekend.
For the first time this season we didnt start slow and concede early goals.
Very even game and both sides seemed to set up their attacks from the run and carry from the backline and we managed to put early goals on the scoreboard and maintained a 3-4 goal lead throughout the game.
The last quarter was quite frantic with Pembroke having all the play and getting within a kick of hitting the front and in the end we held on for a har earned victory.
I agree that their ruckman is a gun, Pinkney got first hands on it all day and gave them first look 8/10 times. Despite our ruckmen not getting their hands on it first, our midfielders worked hard all day and managed to outplay Pembrokes midfield with Goodwin getting 1st, Thach 2nd and Bamford 4th at our club awards. Special mention to the back 6 and in particular big trouty who took some big marks in the last quarter to halt their attack.
