Mitchell Park can play it down all they like but the facts are they start favourites in this game. As I said they will play it down but Mitchell Park are top undefeated, coming of a 200 plus point win whilst Para Hills have barely been going the last 3 weeks.
Mitchell Park have there top tier players all in form Bradford leading the charge in the midfield, may well get Shauny Lindholm back in who racks up getting the footy, Brandon Walczak having a ripper year and with McDonnell leading the league goal kicking supported well by Flynny who also has near enough 20 goals Plus Trav Hyde has bobbed up to be averaging 2 goals a game. with a Solid back 6 they are a very even side.
Plus the fact by Morell's own admission have a wealth of knowledge steering the ship on the side lines.
Mitchell Park $1.80 v Para Hills $2.05
I await Morell explaining to us why Mitchell Park are under dogs I'm guessing 'Div 5' side will get a mention......
I can understand why the casual observer might think that MP would start favourites. If you just looked at scores in the paper and the ladder it makes sense. But most of the people on here are (hopefully) smarter than that.
They would understand the following;
1. MP beat Adelaide Lutheran by less than Para Hills whilst AL didn’t have their two best forwards playing (Gilliland and Fin Borgas). Nor did their coach attend - that hurt them IMO.
2. MP beat Adelaide Uni by less than Para Hills whilst AU didn’t have a raft of their better players involved – Nihill missing and Ireland was injured early.
3. Both of the wins vs AL and AU, MP were uncannily lucky with poor goal accuracy by the opponent. Both AU and AL had more shots on goal and dominated play.
4. MP have not played IMO the second best side in the comp, TTG, again inflating MP’s record.
5. MPs injuries are at an all-time low thus far, with perhaps only 1 or 2 out from a full strength squad – teams yet to be named but I’d say that won’t be the case this week with 6 or 7 set to miss.
6. MP will have to conquer the crippling Grand Junction Road curse of death and misery. Para Hills are at their comfortable Paddocks home ground. A place MP have only ever played Cs.
7. Flinders Uni had 16 missing from their best squad and then a further 10 pull out between Thursday and Saturday. They had a lot of players play both Bs and As. Can’t take anything from that scoreline.
8. Bradford is 50/50
9. Lindholm won’t play
10. Sacky is going alright but with the Para Hills star studded forward line will have to get a job.
11. Nat is 50/50
12. Flynny is 50/50
13. Trav Hyde is going OK but needs help.
14. Solid back 6 is absolutely spot on, in that we’re all fat. Especially me.
15. I'll concede we have a great coaching group but so do Para Hills.
I would have the odds at approximately Para Hills $1.60 v Mitchell Park $2.30 and there is huge value in those PH odds if our sore blokes don't get up. Would wind them in once the cash starts flowing.
