Looks like ML's recruiting paid off, best 5 players making their debut for the club today

the recruits have given them some excellent depth and taken some pressure off of other key players..congratulations to geoff and his boys..they were really good today and will be a very tough nut to crack..parish will be a handful all year..no excuses from us..we had 21 out there who were pretty competitive for 2.5 quarters but we dropped our guard at times and a top team makes you pay and they did..

TTG will strruggle to field a side by the end of the year never should have been allowed to stay in div 6 the effect down to C grades will be felt when the Bs from other sides have bye for that round

great job

It's the leagues fault that a club has two teams worth of players desert a club?

Tell me what is different, they had 4 sides last year, 4 sides this year. You play in grand finals you go up. You finish bottom 2 you go back. Pretty simple.

When you only have 3 sides one of them plays in a C-Grade comp, pretty simple i'd say. ;)

Easy enough to have a crack at the league over this one but consider this:

What if the league had put a newly promoted div 6 team into C4 based on Gullys self predicition of their performances and then they went and belted everyone by 30 goals? What would everyone think then, eh?

It all sounds like the easy option in hindsight but what about all the rest of the div 6 clubs that would lose 2 nights of bar service and a home game's bar and canteen takings if the league chucked them in C4?

There's a lot more to consider than TTG getting smashed every week which unfortunately has been brought on by themselves (as bad as I feel for blokes like Brodie who works bloody hard for his club).

footy chick i dont agree with anything you posted TTG in div 6 can not even front a B grade what sort of respect or lack of is that showing to the comp for starters and then the follow on effect to 8 other teams in B grade who then play C grade that week and smash a bunch of C graders

Fair enough. I agree with you. Surely though it is upon the club to nominate the right amount of teams. Can't be nominating 4 and then a month before saying we haven't got enough when the league has already worked everything out.

But a club can nominate 3 teams then a month before nominate a fourth side? The league managed to work that out.
For me the writing was on the wall months ago when the league done a ring around to get clubs that would be effected opinions. Something should have been done back then.

Well round 1 is done and some interesting results.

Disappointing loss by BOS on Saturday in the A's. Did not capitalise on the red card advantage of 1 extra player for 10 minutes, gave away too many frees and the 3/4 time address from the Lockleys coach certainly hit the mark as they came out and put our lads on the back foot with 4 quick goals. While the B's have improved there was still a significant margin.

Round 2

Rosewater v Lockleys - tough to go against the home side after an impressive round 1 scoreline, won't be easy as Lockleys will fight to the end
WOS v Mitchell Park - may provide a more accurate indication of form for MP after their belting of TTG in round 1
Lakes v United - tough for United away from home
TTG v CLG - not much to say here, CLG by alot
BOS v Uni - always an interesting contest, must win for both after narrow losses in round 1
