Mate, the umpires from both sides never protected the heads of players from both sides all day !!! Not once did I say the players were dirty, in fact, far from it. I thought it was a good hard game where both sides went hard at it but not once was the player going for the ball protected from head high contact. Ex-president was he ??? Thinks he's too good to talk decently to people out on the field ?? Thinks that once he has a whistle in his pie hole that he isn't ever wrong ?? Pffft.....

And as for the guy that got hit front on by an 18 year old, that definitly should have been a free, no argument there and I felt for the guy cos he looked pretty crook afterwards. But it happened shortly afterwards to one of our guys too so it evens out. And as I said, if both umpires had protected the player going for the ball earlier in teh game and set the standard then these things may not have happened.
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

definately agree it shouldve been a free kick, and feel for the guy with the shattered nose.
i was next to it on the boundry when he come off... did not look pretty.

as for the b grade umpire... he was terrible. and thats being kind.

we should not of lose the b grade game tho... smosh were just too good in the last term.
very hard to take losses like that!

im still a little in shock with the "as fair as they come" comment

piccachu wrote:Flinders Park are definatly going to be around the mark at the end of the year got some real quality in the line up. i thought we could still take a few positives out of the Game, the O'Hara vs Perkins match up was a cracker and think they broke even, Christie kicked a nice goal to put Flinders in front late in the last quarter but apart from that was very quiet, seemed more worried about what people were saying in the crowd and other things rather than keeping his eyes on the pill. neither side had a forward who stepped up and grabbed the game by the Balls probably due to both sides defence doing a great job, looking forward to the return bout

how did visser go for flinders pica?

Agreed Choccies!

Good win for us yesterday, happy to get the points obviously. Pooraka have some good players, but their depth is obviously an issue. Top 10 players are probably up to par but the rest will need to improve or Pooraka will struggle. Again our goal kicking let us down, should really have won by 10 goals IMO.

Same old story out there though - get a few goals up, the game is out of reach, and Pooraka go the knuckle. Think #9 got reported late in the game.

Looking forward to the week off and then SMOSH for the ANZAC day clash!!

Yeah Mate i reckon he did, thought it was a good contest and if No 17 for Mitcham didn't show up it may well have been a bit closer, You may be right about the top ten, but i would have thought every club might have the same situation and there certainly was a few mitcham players who didn't really have any impact on the game, fortunatley for them they had some mates who were very handy. Not sure about paying players but i reckon there are a few who might be throwing stones from glass houses, it's naive to think there aren't a few but you just get on with it don't you.

As for going the knuckle, i'm not sure if mitcham and pooraka have a long history, to suggest that "the same old story" is a little redundant. i think you'd find that you might be tad angry if you were kneed in the head, inevitably a skirmish took place and i saw plenty hawks giving it out as well so pointing the finger at Pooraka is a little cheap.

I went and watched the Pembroke Para Hills game
Great game of footy and Pembroke almost managed to snatch the game late
Fraser Pinkney would have to be one of the best ruckmen in div 3 along with (Ohara/Perkins) and was a class above the PH ruckmen and when resting forward managed to kick 3 or 4 goals
PH were really impressive and moved the ball well and despite not having a tall forward line manage to get all there goals through there smalls
How Pembroke didnt try and lock down Thach and Bamford has me stunned. easily the top 2 players on the field for PH Saturday and they gave them plenty of drive through the halfbackline and midfield all game
I expected Pembroke to get up easily but the comp is quite even.
Though Ingerson and Creeves played well for the Kings and despite missing alot of targets Goodwin toiled hard for PH too

Typical Mitcham, have a squeal when it gets a bit heated and claim " we had nothing to do with it". Look out Pooraka, you'll be hauled in to Thebby , confronted by a well edited video and told the hearing is taking place now. Bang 6 players gone. Mitcham - off scott free.

They moved ANZAC day this year ? :?

Obviously not playing on the actual day - but being the weekend closest to ANZAC day (where footy is played), I think we'll still be going through the normal pre-game preceedings - minutes silence, words of remembrance, etc...could be wrong though.

i'm not sure when the knee to head happened so cant comment on that.
Just on the report #9 didn't really do much i didn't think.
I would think he will get off, as he has been reported for striking but seemed to not do anything besides pull blokes off.
Both #27 and our player involved in that scufflle were swinging so both in the wrong there.
Good hard game of footy but Pooraka wont win games of footy trying to chip the ball around if their skills were like the were on the weekend. Just made to many errors trying to pinpoint that kick IMO.

I think you might be wrong seeing as you and everyone else will be playing 5 days after ANZAC day. The weekend closest to ANZAC day is Easter, a SAAFL bye round

Looking at Seatons side they only have 3 new comers in it, the rest all played A"s last year so they don't look as bad as first thought, only missing Wanders, Degabrielle & Treloer, other than Wanders i wouldn't worry about the other 2 from last year as i think they were more worried about the $$$, others down there wouldn't admit that.

Best back flip of the year

We all knew what blokes played for the club and not the money. The blokes playing for themselve and money were the blokes you wanted at the club dont hide behond that now. You continue to hang around your new club Portland. We will continue to aim ourselves at making the finals and playing good footy

It's a tradition thats forming at Mitcham over the last 8 years to play in an ANZAC type day.

Another stupid comment by the uninformed uneducated Seaton bafoon.
You don't know alot about your club do you? ( don't know if you are a real Seaton supporter or not, or whether your just plain stupid )
Do your homework before you get on here & embarrass yourself fool, no1 Degabrielle was signed before i got there pal, no2 Fenney's another the players couldn't say no to even after his non commitment to pre-season training, you'd remember when the bloke was dropped to the Bs during the year & certain leaders stood up & did a backflip & wanted him reinstated in the side, the silly thing is the coach listened to you fools, that was the coaches downfall communicating & giving the leaders of the club an opportunity to voice their opinion & getting some feedback, something he was accused at the end of the year of not doing. no3 Joe Muscara wasn't a money man at the club & yes i got him there, he was close to taking out the leading goalkicking award, not bad for a small forward who you said should not of been playing A grade & only got a game coz the coach loved him ( he got games because he trained & was consistant unlike??? )
It obviously upsets you that i don't support your club anymore, alot of people you have to find now to fill the roles around the club, sh!t that must be hard. Now i can see why your so upset with me, its not easy is it?
Its pathetic people like you that make it hard for clubs, sit in your armchair, keep hiding your real identity & keep having a crack at me on this forum pal its all your good at.
I hope you have the balls to introduce yourself when i get down there soon, our clash is not to far away Portland Vs Seaton.
I'll be there, make sure you are.
