5 goals each in the first 3 quarters i think. Very scrappy as the cobwebs got cleaned out (on the field and in the changerooms). Our team was b and c grade for the first 3 quarters, then the A bangers came out after that and kicked about 11 to 2.

A lot of houghton's blokes played the full 6 quarters so were up against it with fresh legs coming on. I think Houghton will be in the top 5 in Div 7 from what i saw. Got some big units and experienced heads that will get them across the line in enough games (especially at home) to feature come september.

yeah houghton will be okay in div 7. query would still be on how much depth they have. good hit out played in the right spirit. thanks to houghton for playing the full 6 quarters, would have been easy to say enough after 4 or 5 qtrs with shortage of numbers.

Gave us plenty of run off a half back flank. Could be in for a very good year

Hope you get some freedom Quiche, but I honestly don't like you're chances! There's only so many guys in any team (especially ours) that the coach can turn to when his back is against the wall.... And you're top of the list mate! That's what you get for being good at what you do. (You're not really that good though hahaha)

(especially ours)? Does that mean you are staying at Houghton?

Not playing, but I'm still there to support the boys.

I'll struggle to get a spot mate, what with Matty Newton, Fossil and Stix all down there. Might have to hone my skills on the two-way radio ;)

Somehow I don't think you'll struggle for a spot mate. But by all means, hone those 2-way skills!

I think our depth will be okay, and if it is stretched, probably won't be as exposed in Div 7.

Looking forward to having two teams for our next trial.

They'll be good again. The midfield will be very competitive. Should be pushing for a finals berth.

yeah pretty happy. lost 4 players from 2008, 2 we will miss a lot but have picked up some good replacements. tough draw to start season so should get an idea after first month as where we are at.

Was an old "parking" area back in the day before the development, but no definitely wasn't me in the bushes watching college boys may have been friend of Mr. Dawson-Ryan.
