Jeff and Lance have formed a sub committee and are addressing lots of issues within the club such as coaching appointments, sponsorship and our long term stategic plan but primarily the main issues are improved water distribution techniques, reduced hand gun laws, who is using all the 3 inch tape and bus tickets.

Agreed Felch thats why Nth Haven has tried to improve its B Grade and one of the main reasons I still believe Portland will make the 5.

How long does one have to coach the magoos for down Rivvies way before being looked at seriously, nothing but improvement over the past 3 seasons,B grade is the toughest gig, good work.

He is ready and waiting for Craigy to move out so he can jump in there. Portland are renowned for leaving quality coaches with the B grade. Mark Moody was in the top couple of coaches at that club, and he never got a look in for the A grade job.

Nth Haven played Unley when Portlands coach was there, he lost the plot badly threatening violence against his own players after the game which i am told he delivered on during that week, but that is just hearsay. He did get the sack after that game or there abouts. I have never heard anything like it. The reports from Fitzroy, Mitcham and Nth. Haven this season are less than glowing, so ill form my opinion on those facts and say the bloke needs to chill out a bit or risk damaging Portlands reputation further.

Its not just ouzo that doesnt seem to like him, a few other clubs have said things on the last couple of pages. Maybe because hes a player coach they are forgetting that hes going to do things that players do. It would be hard being a player coach

FFS !!! How about a bit of perspective here !

Firstly, the Fitzroy game - a free kick was given away at the start of the game by Andy for an indiscretion against his Fitzroy opponent. A free kick from the centre of the ground resulted. Fair enough, we have all given away free kicks. No-one seemed to mention the chase and tackle he laid in the last quarter on Fitzroy's captain, which resulted in a goal and almost won us the game.
Secondly, the Mitcham game - was yellow carded for a BUMP on a player off the ball. This player was running straight at one of our blokes, Andy put his body in the way. Ump right there, only a send off because it was off the ball. No elbows/fists/head-high contact. But a send-off is never good, we all know that. He was dirty on himself for doing it for sure.
Thirdly, Haven game - didnt 'lose the plot' or 'snap' like some people want to say. Coached pretty well, some of the half-time moves almost got us over the line. In fact, we actually missed his presence on the ground. Would of been a handful for Haven's backman for sure. After the game there was a few words exchanged between him and a Haven player - nothing in it, just a bit of banter. Makes the return bout more interesting i reckon.

I can tell you that the Portland players know that Andy will back them 100%, and them likewise to him. We havent had a good start, but what are our options - only one, keep perservering, and results will come.
All i know is that we are a better footy team with him on the field, dont forget he had kicked 9 goals in 2 weeks and if he absorbs some of the heat and makes it a little easier for others, then so be it. I know one thing, he wont be throwing in the towel on a Thursday night like some others of late !

one thing i must say is a bit wierd is that the person complaining about the portland coach telling a north haven player he pulled out didnt mind coming on here and telling everybody the player that pulled outs name.

OK Felch just an opinion, I know nothing about his coaching ability just that these circumstantial incidents seem to happen rather frequently around him, must just be a very unlucky guy. As long as the players have faith in him and hes got a basic game plan thats all you need from a Div 4 coach.

Slots it through, who do you play for again? You seem to know a lot but I can't recall where your from, I'm assuming Portland but can confirm for me
