while i think they will go in favourites, i think "length of the straight" is a bit much. the top 3-4 will be pretty close this year IMO

Rayner was still in consideration for the league side at the Eagles this year but told the coach he couldn't commit 100% and would miss the odd game if it clashed with his outside interests, Godden couldn't accept that so he got cut straight away. The bloke trained with Essendon 2 or so years ago, he will destroy this competition!

So aswell as having the best onballer in div 6 in Rayner add to the fact they'll have the best Full Forward in the comp in Stubberfield to compliment the best CHB in the comp in Clifford I can't see anybody getting close to them.

It's all well and good to have good players around the ground, but I think all sides need a competitive ruckman (or 2) to go anywhere. This is something the Cats have struggled with since Hodder retired. You can have gun midfielders, but if they don't get first use of it you're behind the 8-ball.

Couldn't agree more dazzler. We haven't had a good ruckman since hodder, and thats no disrespect to those who have rucked for us perviously. We have had plenty of part timers but not a genuine ruckman who plays the ruckman's role.
To have a player of Raynor's calibre is fantastic for the club and the competition, but one player doesn't win you a game of footy.
Good luck to the woody sth lads tomorrow in their 1st hit out! Hope no injuries.

two big ins and yes i agree they are massive. stubberfield was very very good in this div 2 years ago and of course rayner is going to be a gun. but to say they have it won already in march is ridiculous. totally agree they are favourites im just not sure they are the lock for the flag as you say.

This is confirmed. I've been telling you guys for weeks don't let carey fool you by his constant talking about other clubs (MLFC in particular) and their recruiting because it just aint true. Carey has recruited more than GWS over the off season, just keep watching the clearances list in the coming weeks and now he's finsihed with cricket this is only the beginning
