Felch, not sure if the oppositition coach making remarks to our players after the game is really conducting himself in an appropriate manner. Definitley being a bad loser, dissapointing since the game was a hard, fair one.
Our B grade have improved a lot and reasonably young so should get better as the season goes on, hopefully can sneak into the five. Your boys good as usual. I reckon the A's are still a good chance of making the five, deserve to anyway.

I think the key word you said was 'remarks' - it was only words, nothing to get too excited about i reckon.

We need to start winning games, and winning them soon, otherwise we will be trying to avoid relegation rather than making the 5. We will stick at it, not far off the mark IMO.

Surely there is more too add than that about the coach, Ouzo ! Quash some of the rumours, why did OB step down ? Why did Hams leave ?
All the best to Wattsy, great player, and from the little i have had to do with him, seems like a good bloke. Hard job though player/coach, especially as a ruckman.

was a great game to watch, hard but fair
laslett was best for portland for sure
i thought dempsey was good, watts was also good!!
took marks all over the ground.
the difference in the end was the forward lines,
will be a ripper of a game next time round if portland have all there players back
not sure if haven were missing any!
maybe summo or someone????

what number pulled out on the wing in the last quarter???

it was Matthew Mooney #18
iv seen worse but very very bad!
No need for portland coach to say a word!
his one of those blokes that will cost a footy club in the long run!

No its a different Greg Dempsey, this one played reserves at Port a while ago.... I think the Gepps Cross Greg Dempsey was from West and may have been on the Crows list for a year or so. (Felch can confirm that).

Felch - I wasn't part of any of the meetings involving the coaches so I wouldnt want to speculate based on 2nd and 3rd hand information especially since OB is such a top bloke and is well liked within the club, likewise Hamsy seemed pretty switched on and was a pretty good bloke from the short time that I've known him. I think anyone thats seen Wattsy play will know that someone like him gives the players confidence and has great respect so I think he will do a great job. My opnion is that Portland will make the 5 provided their coach keeps his cool and they start winning some of the close games because I beleive it will be a very even competition this year.

Iron fist- Every team has injuries, Haven were missing 5 maybe 6 A graders from saturday like they will probably every week, same as everyone else will.

Haven Dempsey played a few league games for Port I believe and was also linked to the power squad in its early beginings if I'm not mistaken. Out and out champion!

As for what happened with OB, The truth is that he has a disagreement with Jeff the trainer about a strapping technique (the rest is history) not sure why the other fella moved on. OB was a great bloke who is very well respected at the club.

Ok Ouzo, i can see thats about all you are going to tell us. Fair enough.

I agree with the injury thing too, every team has them and very rarely does anyone have their full side. You might have 3 players to come back, but by the time they do come back in, you get 3 more injuries. Every club is in the same boat. Thats why depth is so important.
