He got stuck into the editor saying he was fat and some portland look a like who was as fat - who was it? felch or piccachu fill us in please as you know the portland players more than I do

Looks like everyone is getting into the Portland boys. Think some of it is a bit personal and Clubs such as portland will come good. HH you seem to have a grudge against the portland coach. as i dont know who he is so I cant comment but surely great Clubs like Portland would know bout there coach and do something IF there was something wrong and thats not saying there was anything as i said IF. You had your win yesterday now shut up and show some humility. PS - have not heard anything about the coach so until i do or see wont pass judgement. Give me a fortnight and maybe will pass comment.[/quote]

I haven't said anything about the win itself, and my comments wouldn't change if we walked off the oval with out the win. I just don't think coaches in any league of football should intentially try to hurt opposition players by any means. There's no personal grudge with the Portland coach, just a real strong rivalry between the two clubs.

Top End wrote:Great game of football today between the Lions & PAOC and the Reds were just good enough in the end. Congratulations to them as they were the best side on the day and deserved to win. After speaking with a few of the PAOC supporters during the afternoon, they thought they were lucky to win last week against iggies. apparently kicked 3 goals in 3 minutes to win the game. If that be the case then Iggies after belting Kilburn today would look to be the team to beat along with CBC, PAOC and Seaton and maybe the Lions. Early season favs in Para and Portland look like duds

Favourites in who's eyes. We at no stage have touted us as being premiership favourites.

Improved effort by the boys yesterday but we cant keep giving sides 6 goal starts and expect to win. 6 goals to 1 at quarter time and lost by 27 points. Should get a few players back over the next few weeks and hopefully start to get our season on track.
Surprised by the size of the Seaton team, expected a few more bigger bodies but they moved the ball very well and capitalise on any f**k ups you make. Good game of footy (except the first quarter of course)

Para Hills were very good Saturday, yes they were 6 goals to 2 down at qtr time & 10 goals to 7 down at half time.
Just when Seaton looked like running away with it Para Hill had other ideas & the momentum shift swung their way.
Seaton showed good composure when threatened early in the last to get on top once again & win by 4 & a half goals
Scott Bamford was very good for Para Hills picking up a lazy 39 posessions & always uses them effectively.
Their CHF Flynn doesn't need alot of ball to hurt you as he's a very strong mark & very rarely misses especially outside 50.
Thanks to the boys down there for the beers they put on for the team after the game back at their club, the lads enjoyed the day & look forward to doing the same in return when we meet at Ram Park.

Thanks for the compliment NO MERCY it was a good game of footy made even more so by supporters from both sides acting in a proper manner (usual banter) but nothing over the top as we experianced last week but thats another story so to the Seaton players ,officials and supporters thanks for a good day of footy and we also look forward to our next meeting.

OH yeah good to see BLACKCAT at the game Saturday

No sooky lala hare boys. Yeah you won the Grand Final a couple of years ago but hey thats the past and all the talk on here is how you boys are gonna be. One of the teams to beat. But at the moment we are 2 zip and you are 0-2. Apart from the fight it was a good game of footy yesterday as all of the Mitcham-Portland games are. hard and tough with alot of passion from both teams. Not sure why you would keep that bloke on Flanagan especially as he kicked 10goals 5 with 2 out on the full. Also number 5 for you boys needs to have a good look at himself. Firstly gettin Tucker high early in the game and getting sent off then throwing beauties during the fight and then run off the ground trying to hide so he didnt get red carded is something a proud club like portland wouldnt tolerate.

Rather than bitch about us as you usually do, how about you Mitcham blokes give us a run down of the game - where you won it, why you won it...you know, stuff that actually matters

I wasnt there on Saturday, and would actually appreciate knowing what happened, as unbias as possible.

be reasonable mate there wasnt much in that incident early were the first yellow was handed out, and even my oppenent said to his team mate
surely that peanuts not sending him off for that, sh!t he is to
i think that in its self paints a picture about the bump.

FTR, Top End is not from SMOSH.

Flanagan is a damn good player. Has played a few good games against us before.

He played all his juniors out with Mitcham.. played a few games last year when he wasnt playing for Sturt/west. Has signed with Mitcham again after training with Gaza. Should be playing many more games for the hawks than he did last year.

Alrighty Felch. Game was won probably in the second quarter. The hawks were down by 3 goals at quarter time i believe and went in at half time with a 5 goal lead. I think you guys only had 16 on the field, while we had 17 due to the red cards, which is an obvious advantage. Mitcham midfielders got ontop for the 2nd quarter and our fowards were able to kick straight. We knew Portland werent going to give up - they never do! 3rd quarter they came out hard and got within 2 goals, but Mitcham managed to kick two late goals to give us a nice 4 goal bumber going in to the last. Same sort of thing happened in the last quarter, Portland kicked a couple, and Mitcham replied with a couple of their own. Portlands inaccurate kicking in the last quarter didn't help thier cause either. Some silly and obvious free's to Flanighan who couldnt miss sealed the game. Obviously there were players out from both sides. Where was Coppins? You really lacked talls, which allowed our ruckman easy marks around the ground. Which meant you guys had to really rely on your skills by passing it short - which i spose worked for you but you could have really done with an imposing figure on your HF line.

Overall, it was a bloody entertaining game of footy - goal frenzy, hard at it, and skillfull. Shame about the umpiring, needed an umpire with a lil more age n experience!

Cheers for that.
We have kicked reasonable scores that past 2 weeks, but are leaking goals at the other end.
Coppins got red-carded last week against Seaton. We definately do lack some height.
Who stood Flanigan ?

=D> =D> =D> =D> thats much more constructive and pretty bloody accurate for a change HH, coppins was red carded last week and had to serve a one week ban, also with bament out another of our taller marking forwards, was really difficult a positive though is still kicking a big score with out those blokes in, big changes going to be needed next week with the lose of 2 to red cards but hopefully a couple of good inclusions aswell

Pretty fair assesment there HH
All Ill say about the fight was 5 was an idiot when the fight was on but that bump in the first quarter was simply good hard football from both players. Wasnt worth a card IMO
Other thing was 11 for you guys, small bloke who started it was rather weak, did similar thing to 5 (run away from it and hid like a girl).

Umpires werent good, but when are they really? the undisciplined acts really worked againt portland, but after the red cards, I think they got a bit better.

as for people talking us up, like every other side, its not Portland people but other clubs doing it to take a bit of heat off themselves.
Still very early in the season and have plenty of time to turn around this less then ideal start.

Mitcham v Old Ignatians 3goals

Prince Alfred OC v Para Hills 4-5goals tough start to the year will hold for one more week.

Seaton Ramblers v CBCOC 1-10pts will be a belter!! 2 best teams in the comp at the moment i reckon.

Kilburn v Scotch OC 3-5goals still not sure about scotch will see in time.

Portland v SMOSH West Lakes 10pts cant believe one of these 2 will be 0-3 to start but in saying that portland were 0-3 if i remember correctly 2years ago and won the flag!!
