It used to be based in Parklands on Greenhill Road until they moved to Panther Park- the cricket club is still there I reckon.

From the History Pages
"Whilst there is no suburb called Kenilworth in Adelaide, at the turn of the century the Parkside area was subdivided and some of the streets were named after characters in Sir Walter Scott's novel Kenilworth, including Foster, Robsart, and Leicester, not to mention Kenilworth Road."

Kenilworth FC isnt in or near Parkside? What does that have to do with how the club got its name?

they used to play there...

Well that part probably shouldve been included in the explanation...

I agree HH3. Now that its cleared up I like the fact that they kept Kenilworth after relocating to a new area. North Haven is not close at all to north haven so I guess our name is a little obscure also. Knowing the story I understand why it was named, but it's never had a lot of success at North Haven. Port Pres had quite a bit I understand... Boosh would know more about that.

Congratulations to Adam "Bomber" Clifford who plays his 250th game for WSFC tomorrow. Champion player and a champion bloke to go with it!

This now makes it 5 players from our 1998 U/17 premiership side that have gone on to play 250 games for the club, with another 3 having played over 150 games. A great return which I believe outlines the importance of having strong juniors.

i have been watching with intrest all the comments about Kenilworth and now North Haven , yes Footy Chick i was around when the club was called Port Pres , i was the leader of the Cheer squad back then , so many lovely boys were at the club back then , and they will be returning tomorrow for the past players day . For the information about the name change , it occured when the old Port Pres left Almond Tree Flat and moved into the vacant Taperoo clubrooms on Largs North Reserve, it was decided by the powers that be , because there was a new suburb called North Haven near by , it would be a good idea to change our name hoping it would be more atractive to the young up and coming kids . whether that is the reason for having so many members and junior and senior teams who knows , its debatable . I have been at the club 43 years now , seen lots of good times and some not so good , but .

So everyone just moves on from the Elizabeth issue without demanding any action from their club..... ffs

Off the ball king hits, probably the biggest issue in amateur footy, and everyone is just happy to pretend it didn't happen. Stop pretending this is a league wide problem, its not, its a problem with a few clubs.

Again Elizabeth posters, what action has your club taken??

Maybe people are sick of seeing it on here, I know I am. If it bothers you that much chase it up with amateur league or contact Elizabeth yourself or find another channel to do so.....whatever.

Unless you have an Elizabeth FC membership it's probably none of your business.

Stop shit-stirring.

If you were so concerned, you'd also be demanding answers from about 3 other clubs who have recently had heavy league penalties imposed on players that have done similar....

If it really means that much to you, get Rod or Brenton or whoever to bring it up as an agenda item at the next delegates meeting.
