If there is even a tiny chance you could get an SANFL player to play finals.... why wouldn't you qualify them?
As for the kid who misses out - had chances to seal your spot. You are player 70 on the list.
There's always next year... or other winter sports.

I would qualify them, but they would need to actually play is my point. I would suggest he would not even be at the C grade game let alone on the field.

would suggest opposition teams have a peak over at their bench to see if he's on it.
think he has to be on the bench for at least a half to acrue that game, happened to us last year.
had a player who was working said he would get there late but got caught up with work and didnt get there.
opposition told umps and they scrubbed him off the team sheet straight away during half time break.....bummer.
would be the same as the central district, daniel schell incident last year i suppose.

Would be a shame on 21 players who lost a gf by a point when you could have dropped the worse player in the team for a sanfl player...

i do find it amusing most clubs are against picking this sanfl bloke, but if the shoe was on the other foot, they'd would surely pick him if the opportunity came up... any club saying they wouldnt do it, are lying... its A grade footy!!! Good on them i reckon... Plus with the extra player on the bench know one really misses out... like someone stated on here before.... play on...

Im not against it at all, I am saying that if he is to play then he needs to be there playing, if the guy actually plays in the C grade, then no problem. Of course all clubs would jump at the chance. It was mentioned he is named in their C grade, good chance he wont leave Sturt and go play C grade footy so he is probably being named to qualify, this is cool with me if he actually plays.

Elizabeth had a good win today over Greenies. We have the slightly better run home than them as well (Playing Para Hills) relegation may be saved :D

Para Hills battled hard against the Jets. Just 3 goals down at 3/4 time, but ended up losing by 7 goals.

Interesting. Ben Nelson played another first quarter for Scotch OC B’s again yesterday before racing off to coach Scotch College 1st XVIII. I reckon that’s 3 times now. School season finishes the same week as SAAFL minor round. Nelson can then play 2.15pm finals. Handy.

Let that be a lesson to you, Port Adelaide Sturt. & Norwood You don't beat Glenelg in Grand Finals and get away with it.

If this is true and they manage to qualify Paul Cahill, then Scotch go from being a luke-warm contender to a real premiership chance. Surely the Jets remain favourites but having nelson in the middle delivering it to the cahill brothers will be something to watch

Unfortunately couldn't make it to Golden Grove yesterday... From all reports it was a great win by the dogs.. 4 goals down at half time to get up by 13 points.. Fantastic effort.... Just a game out the 5 and this coming week against para hills should be a beauty!! If we win there is every chance we could be 5th...

Is there a time frame that the team sheets need to be finalised by? i see that Scotch hasnt done it yet and i can tell you that Paul Cahill didnt play as he was taken off the orginal team sheets when handed to our team manager.

Happened the week before out at Unley but that's expected !!!
Nah the Plympton ump warned the guys on the hill (on the other side of the oval) that he would pay a free against them !!

Good effort by GG in the B grade on Saturday slowing building up to a good win.
Well done to the Plympton A's who just worked harder and spread and ran when it counted later in the game. Being 3 or 4 goals down away from home on an oval twice as big as theirs is a good away win for them. Really disappointing for us.... But we get a few back in the next week or so and that will help. Can't take anything away from Plympton though. It was still 21 against 21 and theirs were better.
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Pulteney qualify Nathan Bassett when in Div 5?? Apparently was available for GF but players told the coach not to pick him in front of the guy who played in 2nd semi. won by less than a goal and everyone was happy except for Bass ;)

Slightly different. Pulteney had 2 ex AFL players that year 1 played almost every game and is still at the club and they other was Bass. He played the bare minimum games to qualify but was not available for 2nd Semi which they won. Bare in mind that year Bassett also played amateur soccer probably played just about the same amount of games in both sports.

An unnamed player realised he was the one most likely to be dropped and decided to have a quiet word to that year's leadership group about his situation who then pressured the coach to go in unchanged to the GF. So in reality it was only 1 player and thank Christ they won with the unchanged line up as it kept both sides of the fence happy that day.....

I can tell you some supporters were less than complimentary at 3/4 time under the scoreboard at St Marys over the non selection when trailing Westminster by a few points.
