Pertaringa wrote:The TTG form has I believe surprised most, even at the Club. With Pascoe and Pitt eased through the pre-season, it has been the form of the younger running brigade that seems to have stepped up. Wicks definitely looks a class player though, and P. Sarno I think from the Hills can play tall or small.

I would think the immediate/realistic aim is to stay in Div 1, anything from there is really a bonus.

Thanks mate, good to see people can still post genuine comments on the forum.

Do ROCS look better than last year? Have they picked up any or lost any signifigant players? How do you reckon they will go?

i agree in regards to TTG strength being their small runners- had a great player (number 5) always plays well. has an ability to play CHF and then go into the middle. Can't see that Pitt and Pascoe are really going to help them though- my views of them last year were too old too slow- both missed lots of games last year- would hope success didn't rely on them??

young ben noske is a good player for them had a great two grand finals last year and i reckon he is ready to stand up. These young guys will be the players to take TTG a long way not the recyled older players

tips

Postby finn » Wed Apr 11, 2007 11:37 am

henley to beat edwardstown (will be too strong)
rostrevor to beat salisbury north (a better side)
broadview to beat tea tree gully (at home and first up game in higher division for ttg will find a few out for a game or so)
gaza to beat gepps cross (who will struggle to avoid relegation plus darren mead was in the 'tiser)
goodwood to beat university (at home on that weird sized and shaped paddock, while university has apparently lost a few)

final 5 to be the old chums in no order

broadview, goodwood, rostrevor, gaza, uni with henley close by
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

Henley v Edwardstown
Salisbury North v Rostrevor OC
Broadview v Tea Tree Gully
Gaza v Gepps Cross
Goodwood Saints v Adelaide Uni

Not much between Broadies/TTG and Goody Saints/Uni I wouldn't think...

No real surprises with Round 1 i'm thinkin. Maybe TTG over Broadview but i hear that the Tigers still have a lot of players to come back in the team. All other results were pretty spot on, Goodwood look like making it 3 in a row.

I caught a bit of the GAZA V Gepps Cross Game last week, Gaza's big ruckman, Jack I think, looked a complete different player to what he was last year. I watched his first year with interest last season as he was something Amateur league hadn't really seen before, however this year he seems to struggle in the middle and find it hard to get the footy around the ground. Does anyone know if there is some injury concerns or maybe the desire has gone??
