Is what it is when you’re at the bottom of the food chain and surrounded by a lot of good clubs.

It’s not all about winning this year for us, it’s about trying to set standards and build a stronger connection with our women and junior programs.

Haha it’s not that we aren’t trying to win - more that it’s not the absolute #1 priority heading into the season. It’s about longevity and the future.. building a strong foundation so we can be sustainable.

Winning isn’t the only metric for success.

Just spoke to an Ingle Farm player, 23 “ins” and only one major “out” and now they have a C Grade.

Of those 23 he said he’d consider 11 to be A Graders

Still doesn’t mean you haven’t got 23 new players. Just means you need to register your players better ;)

Was a good hit out for us Friday night - thanks to Rosewater for hosting, and was great to see such a crowd for a pre-season trial match! Makes you think, is a trick being missed by not utilising grounds with adequate lighting more? Occasional Friday or Saturday night match?

Anyway, whilst in the end was a comfortable result Ingle Farms favour, Rosewater did not have a group of their A grade playing, and was a mixed A/B squad. After halftime it was predominately B graders, where as Ingle Farm were almost full tilt. So can't read a lot into the result to be fair.

Anyone find out how the Houghton trial went?

Few Yellow Cards/Red Cards in the trial up at Houghton been told any truth to this?

Bedge completely right a good couple hundred at rosewater Friday night for what was a good match to watch the league should take note.

Ingle farm full tilt look like they might be hard to beat in division 7, the first half rosewater played A graders but ultimately couldn't go with Ingle farm late in the first half from what I watched one team had some form of structure across 2 lines midfield-defence from ingle farm looked comfortable most the night, rosewater seemed to be kicking long at all costs fell straight into Ingle Farms hands.

Do Ingle farm have a big full forward looked like a mosquito fleet type set up?

I doubt anyone is missing anything - Any club can re-schedule their match to another time if the opposition agrees

and to be honest, if you're playing the early game on a friday it's a massive pain in the bum to get to the club before 5pm to prepare.

But you'll find that most Friday nights are taken up with juniors , at the bigger clubs anyway.

smdo33 wrote:Heard the reasons on the grapevine and they sound like bullshit excuses to me. Not like it wouldn't have been known what the challenges would have been when signing on

Poor form from someone who had committed to helping solve the exact problems he claims were the reason for resigning, 3 weeks before the start of the season leaving an already struggling club in the shit.

Smells like something better came up..

On the money smdo33! Old mate Cabbage is now coaching Payneham Reserves.

Why do people make shit up? Just poor form all around really. Must be something about coaching the lower levels these days, so many of them are habitual liars.

Ah well, we're in a much better place should be thanking him when I think about it.
