carey, you are a quality poster but everyone I have spoken to have categorically refuted the claims made in this thread.

Paralowie are still alive and kicking, have not folded, but are rather in some financial strife which they are doing their darndest to get out of.

Mitchell Park will not be given the option of staying in Div 6, even if Paralowie decide not to field a side in 2011. If that happens Div 6 will have a bye round...

Paralowie have until the 27th of March I think, that is when the doors shut. There was a meeting last night between members and the committee. We have until next friday, which is when the council meet??, to try and figure out how to save the club. Alot of phone calls are apparently going to be made today.

So there are signs of life, just not real strong ones
Anything we can do to help?

I know people have the best intentions but really, I was pm'd several times asking if other people/ clubs could do to help us in our darkest hour, at the end of the day, unless they were willing to off-load 20 players over to us there wasn't much they could do.
I apologise if I sound a little unappreciative but there was really nothing anyone else could do. It does make it a bit easier when it's cut and dry.

AFAIK the coach has resigned due to lack of numbers at training. Highly unlikely they'll put two teams together this year.

Word is that the club will officially close it's doors. Three clubs gone in as many weeks, extraordinary start to the year for the league.

There were a fair few boys from Paralowie at Soundwave on Saturday all wearing they're guerseys. It's good to see them getting behind there club in what is a pretty dark time for them at the moment.

Does that mean you are fielding two teams this season?

Good to see that the AFL is looking after grassroots football...

It will be interesting to see how many players have decided to find other homes because of this uncertainty and how many have hung round til the death to continue playing on. Hopefully you guys can get through this and at least have 1 team then you can build some momentum through the season and try to get more teams on the park in 2012.

Would be shame to see the club fold. Enjoyed playing against the paralowie boys play the game as it should be played and got to know some ripper blokes. Still believe there premiership side few years back was as good low div amateur side as I ve seen in my involvement at that level. I'm sure the passionate guys at the club will do everything in there power to stop the club shutting shop

if paralowie can get one team together c1 awaits with its bye (and smithfield) and with many clubs being northern there may be many an existing rivalry to utilise for funding purposes.

Gday mate.

For now, Paralowie will be looking to field 1 team. With what happened tuesday night, about 25-30 people were down there. 5AA has got on board to sponsor "The Lapathon". 1000 laps in 48hrs. The club and every individual taking part will be looking for sponsors to sponsor every lap. When I get home later this arvo, I'll try and scan the leaflets we were given so everyone on here can have a look.

It's starting to take shape, but there is still a long way to go.
