Okay for the benefit of Boozehound and particularly Carey, heres what happened at EP. EP advertised and both Payne and Millar applied for job plus coincidentally they both applied for the GC job. Millar was interviewed by both clubs same night and told EP that if he was sucessful at GC then he would take that job. He missed out and was informed by EP that he had the job if he wanted it. Now Boozehound and Carey, not sure what hidden agendas you two may have but I can assure you that when Millar was interviewed, he told EP that a couple of BL players (who started with him this year...B/F and R/U to name two) would follow him. There was no reference to Zac Millar, his father only took him to Roosters 3 or 4 weeks ago and resigned under very good contract. No father in his right mind would allude to doing something as stupid as you suggest. A few eyebrows were no doubt raised with Millars appointment, particularly taken that he was unsucessful at BL this year, but maybe his 20 year coaching history prior to this was taken into account. Summing up, I dont think hiding behind nicknames and questioning peoples integrity and or how people get jobs without being at the meeting suggest you may have alterior motives here, maybe you are have an association with a club that may see this as a way to sway current EP players your way. I do know that a few senior EP players have contacted EP concering the substance of your comments, your comments have been treated with the disdane they deserve and what it has done is strengthened the club, its new coach and the playing groups resolve for 2009.

Ok, it is common knowledge to most people on here who i am. I played at EP this year under payney and had a very enjoyable year. I have said on other forums that Millar's resume seems very impressive and have not questioned that. All I have said is what I have heard and on this instance it was that he was taking Zak Miller. I put that on here and it was stated that he was signed at North. Didn't think the club would be too happy about that, however I have been assured that this was never promised.

I can not say whether Millar's appointment is a good or bad one. He seems very experienced and BL people have good things to say about him. What I can say is clubs like EP ( and most others) ask for "loyalty" from their players every year, to stay, play for less money, committ more time etc etc. So when a loyal club person (Payne) does a great job and gets the club up to Div 2 and has the support of the players, then misses out on the job the following year it is a contradiction of what is said to players time and time again (again, most clubs not just EP).

Like I said Millar is well credentialled and has good wraps, but IMO if Payne wanted the job it should have been his. I guarantee this, If he was offered the job towards the end of the season he would have re-signed and not looked for other jobs, however was forced to look elsewhere through the fact they re-applied that position.

I say on here only my honest opinion. I dont make up stories to stir trouble and I certainly don't hide behind my name.

Kind regards,

Brendan Donnelly

Looks like ppl are starting to talk sense on here...

Well put Boozehound.

I can see your frustration and there doesnt seem to be too much logic invloved there but you wont be dissapointed with Dusty, and if yours players choose to leave then they were never club people.

Ah look I think thats a bit harsh. People move on for there own reasons, whether it be to follow a coach, because they move, or are unhappy with certain things the club has done. Lets judge each on its own merits.

But if they move because of the coach then they were only there for the coach, not the club

I like Dusty Millar alot, but i'm going no where (even though thats not a huge gain for BL! Or loss for EP) because I want to win a flag with BL.... Not with Dusty.

No disrapect Michael - If you ever choose to read these things that is!

It's good to see that comments made on here have helped strengthen a club, the new coach AND the playing group's resolve... Well done Carey and Boozehound, you seem to have single handedly helped EP for season 2009!! Oh, the power of safooty.net

Dutchy I'm still keen to know how you knew what happened in the meeting between Millar and EP?

You knew the situation at BL good enough, Millar didnt have the cattle and the better ones let him down on numerous occasions..

At the end of the day nobody has questioned Paynes ability to coach or what he achieved at EP, but when the new guys integrity gets put out on this forum that he lied in order to get the job that is way off track. Any issues between Payne and EP should be sorted out by the parties concerned, the new guy should be given an opportunity without his reputation being tarnished before he starts.

A coach lives and dies by his results. You're talking ability, well Payne got his club promoted to the highest division it has been at, speak volumes.

And I'll say it again, nothing against Millar, but people put on here information that they recieve as I did. If he has an issue with that, get on here and set the record straight. I have been assured that Zak Millar coming was never part of the presentation so it's been put to bed, what reputation has been tarnished there?

CHICOMAN, how would you know whether the senior players have kicked up and now have a stronger resolve? You support Glenelg, Richmond and Brahma Lodge...whats the connection to EP?

I know all of the "senior players" at EP and they take very little interest in the forum and take comments made on here for what they are....

Who are you CHICOMAN? Or are you one that hides behind your alias?
