Its an arguement that will never be resolved but top hills country teams would be high div 3 and would win games in div 2, i think teams like callington and cambrai have given the league a poor reputation in recent seasons.

Had 5 of their best out including the back to back B&F winner Tommy Lipetri!

I know you probably think MP would beat a Div 1 but i can tell you Kersbrook & Echunga for that matter would beat your beloved Lions by 10-15 goals minimum easily. They are Div 4 standard.

Sorry boys and girls, I have no doubt Warrior that you are very right. All I was saying is that the bottom 6 or 7 'PLAYERS' in the country teams would struggle at Div 6 level. The top 15 are all guns and would play probably Div 1. Most country teams don't have the depth that the city clubs do, and Mozzie I don't have an ego and was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time. In fact I'm a shit coach really, just had good players.

you should have swapped the red and green colours on the jumper

My sentiments exactly. Red with the green and white V was the training jumpers in 2012. They would still be on the club website, but everyone at the club had their input and frankly, they look a whole lot better than they were and they have kept with the club tradition. Nice compromise guys. :)

Coming from a club with debatable colours I like it. Funnily enough I reckon one of the best guernseys I have seen is the old Seaton Ramblers big V. It's amazing how red can change things.

Red makes you look taller and tall is good in Divvy 6 and 7. Look at Nth Adelaide, even their shrimps look like ruckman. Lol.
Just my very ordinary opinion.  Again, as I have said, well done to everyone at the Den, they had the balls to keep up with the times and not be swayed by public opinion on the club jumper. Upwards and onwards Lions.

Yankman, I have to disagree. Being a previous vice captain of a Div 6 club, and also playing in the div 4 and 5 for that same club when they were up and about, and then moving to the Hills and playing in the Hills country, I would have been in the bottom 5 or 6 for that club. I think the Hills comp, tallking about the top 4 or 5 teams, is extremely competitive, and quit a bit of depth. Yes, the bottom clubs only have half a dozen players capable of playing at a high division in SAAFL. Nairne, with there top 4 or 5 players out as previously stated, will still only just scrape into the top 5 this year. IMO.

Sorry to rant on, but I have also coached in both Div 6, and Hills country, and can honestly tell you that each and every one of my 21 in the hills would have been in the first couple you would pencil into your div 6 team.

Thanks to Riddler and all the boys from ML today for a great hit out. Pretty close all day til the last half of the last quarter. I can see plenty of positives for both sides, and we will both be better for the run. Also, thanks to Q and the Houghton FC for the use of their oval and bar!! Thanks guys

Good to see the umpiring standards have not changed over summer in this division. We had one in our trial game yesterday who thought everyone was there to watch him and threatened to walk off at half time because the quarters were 25 minutes long, demanded they be 20 minutes or else the game would be called off I found this quite amusing

Rumour around our club is Attilio Marando has gone back to Blackfriars, huge IN if true quality player!
I also see Michael Pearce from the NTFL to CLG very good goalkicker and will need to be watched.
