how did the lads go today morgs

After playing the best half of our season last week we played the worst 4 quarters today. Went in way ahead of ourselves and Flinders Uni played really well.

I think we ended up wining by about 18 goals but that didn't reflect the competitive nature of the game. Once again Luke was the difference, kicking 12. I believe FU had a few handy ins but we didn't play anywhere near our potential.

Oh well, onwards and upwards. Look forward to the bye. MPFC are on top of the ladder! Been a while since that has been the case.

I think Flinders played competitive football for the first 2 1/2 quarters yesterday. If they were 4.5 instead of 1.9 at that point, perhaps the heads may have not dropped and Mitchell Park might not have kicked away by as much at the end of the game.

2 1/2 quarter effort by FUFC is better than the 0 quarter effort they put on the park last week. If they can put together a few 4 quarter efforts for the remainder of the round, they might be able to push a few teams in the second half of the seasons.

I though the Mitchell Park forward line was very unselfish.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

A certain umpire tried to take centre stage in the first half but lucky enough in the 2nd half he went into his shell and didn't ruin what was a great game of footy. All day it was close with the margin never past 2 goals for either side.

TTG played very well, a couple of their lads who dropped down from their B's were good. We played pretty ordinary and looked flat (maybe the 2 weeks off wasn't such a good thing for us) but credit to the Gullies they pushed us all day and whoever underestimates them is in for a rude shock! Matty Ralph fulfilled every boys dream (even if it was a shank of a kick off the boot)...lets just say he didn't have to buy a drink all night last night :)

Yeah they fluffed a couple of sitters early on which would have put a bit of scoreboard pressure on us. I think the scores were 3.6 to 1.9 at one stage. To be honest I think their midfield was a bit better than ours on the day, our defense was very good and Luke was dominant against a smaller younger player.

Agreed. Especially if last years A grade Happy Valley centre half forward plays every game.

ha! In particular #17? He is just an all around nice guy, giffting goals to team mates left right and centre.

A wins a win mate, at the end of the home and away it won't matter how you got them, just how many you have.

Can you name names who dropped down from the B's for them?

Unfortunately he's only available every 6-8 weeks. A rather handy in to be sure.

Josh Mann was electric up forward, doubt there'd be a quicker bloke in Div 7 snagged 5 goals and I think Shane Latham and Jason De Lome were the other 2.

Congratulations to Lachlan Kennett who will play his 100th game for the Mawson Lakes Saints this week. Kennett is a very loyal servant of the club being a 3 times B&F winner and we hope the Club can get over the line for him this week in the big match against SHOC.

Thread needs more discussion. C'mon guys.

Who is going to win this weeks red hot battle between SHOC and Mawson Lakes? Are Angle Vale the sneaky assassins of Div 7? Are there any major injuries or new recruits? Who are the early tips for the association medal?

Flinders Uni could be in for a good showing against Tea Tree Gully this week with the great Estaban Vahaio named for his 2011 debut. Look out Gullies, you've been warned

Are you posting on the Div 7 thread too now MH? Probably cos Div 7 is the grade YOU should be playing. Especially after the pathetic performance you and your club served up last week.

Well there is a first for everything, never been described like that before. Replace "great" with "no footed" and you've probably got it.

Actually had my first run last week. Obviously did't do a lot of good judging by the scores.
