Congratulations to the B's (2nd), C's (!st), D's (3th) and under 18's (4th) for all making the finals. A credit to all of the lads and the coaches. Disappointing with the A's missing out by 0.7% but the loss to Greenies and some inaccurate kicking during the year has cost us that spot. But, the B's should go OK if they play their best footy (yes finals cliché I know...) But our best is definitly good enough but our worst is along way from that. The C's finished undefeated so anything but a GF win would be a disappointment to TJ, Tex and the boys. The D's limped to the line but knocked off top placed TTG over the weekend to take some encouraging form into the finals. The 18's will have their work cut out for them but you only have to get there to be a chance !!

Encouraging signs and it would be nice to be able to have some Grand Final celebrations inside the new clubrooms.

Well done to everyone... The real challenge is ahead =D>

I haven't and I wont - I am not saying GG are fixing and certainly not regarding your medallist. I was just suggesting that now is not the best time to joke like that in public.

Let the clubs with moral fibre stick with the spirit of awarding the medal to those who deserve it, whilst clubs like Adelaide; Lutheran &......................., should cringe with shame. They should have serious look at themselves, especially the un-named club that should know better.

You only need to look at the votes and the wins in a division to work out who is on the fix. And it is rampant - 2 clubs have decided to embarass themselves    and it especially hurts those who actually deserved it

couldnt agree with you more mate, like you said it makes everyone second guess winners of the awards now, thinkin did they actually deserve it etc?

very odd when a club who wins only 4 games etc wins by such a large number, it definately makes ya think

and as harmless as tex thought his post might be, u do make a good point people may take it the wrong way with whats been going on.

tex did have a real good year tho.... for an old fella  ;)

Thats Mick Grandey known as Hammer, or Stop!! Hammer Time. He would do that any day of the week for anyone. It is only a footy game after all. I'll pass on everyones thanks to him. Great club man and him and Mrs Hammer do so much for the club for no reward. Glad we could help ;)

good to see for a golden grove's perspective, players from the jnr system coming and winning association medals with t sheppard also winning back in 07. played against both players. both quality players and good people off the field.

My ol girl is the Paralowie Trainer and I know she holds him in very high regard. What the pair of them done was unreal. And just for an update, the bloke is recovering well. Im led to believe he copped abit of shit today from his family and friends for pissing himself :) Its good to see he is in a pretty good mood!

I watched the first half GG v Paralowie U18 game on Sunday

GG - very fast and skilful but Paralowie just seemed to ground out the win with a couple of big blokes up forward (big doesnt always mean tall either). You've got some roadrunners on the way up through the grades

Funny comment from one of the PAC blokes walking past the Paralowie team as they ran out:

Coco: "What grade's this Jimmy"
Jimmy: "U18's mate"
Coco:  half the side have got tatts!!!
dedja: Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Sorry mate - just found out it was Smithfield

I asked a GG person who said it was Paralowie - I was there to watch C4 not the later match

But, back to the point - it was a great game although I had to go at half time. Very fast and skilfull. The marking ability of some of the kids was amazing

Ha, one of the lads is a tattooist. There is 5 that I know of that have ink. It was a fantastic game, GG hit the front inside 2 minutes to go, Smithfield won the ball out of the middle and eeked out 2 goals in quick time.
GG were very fast and looked the goods right from the outset, it seemed weird that the majority of the scoring was into the breeze.

Jimmy, i was actually refering to my thoughts that i made to a team mate that the 2 games i played along side him and he played really well and i was not so good, we were both down back and he worked the ball out of defence really well and fast, could possibly have been mistaken for him is i meant. I was in no way refering to our umpire being biased and giving me votes that he did not believe i actually deserved. If there is one theing Grant never does is favour us i can guarantee you that! More so i believe he may have had me confused those 2 days is all i meant.
