Won't be able to play for a couple of weeks due to a suspension he is serving out handed down by North Adelaide though.

captain, was this a 'smokescreen' to hide the signing of a better player[ playing wise as oppossed to 'social & playing wise]?

Not too sure what you are referring to there, Moz. If someone else comes along, so be it! No smokescreen, just too much coin involved with Coulter.

I asked Punk Rooster yesterday. He said a meal and a $20 bar voucher

Today's question for discussion... Is Henley imploding? I really liked these guys for a GF berth but theyre last 2 weeks performances have seen them slip out of the 5... with the amount of depth they have you wouldn't think this was a problem if injury were to blame.. or is it just a matter of the opposition finally workiing them out?

Well its not if you saw what was on the park!
NM, did you see the Seaton game today. I understand what you're saying about what was on the park but surely at any standard of footy a 150 odd point loss means more trouble than just a loss of a game. The big fella that took over from Scotty must be wondering WTF he's going to do. Nothing more demoralising for those in a side than watching the ball go over their head all day. Have they got anything playing in the 2's or anything of substance coming back from injury that might force a swap on the ladder with ROCS
They will have a reasonable player back in two weeks from suspension. I heard today the very good ROCS player he was suspended for striking will be out of action a while longer yet with head injuries. This may help them get above ROCS! Dosen't seem fair really, yet there were complaints from Seaton supporters about the "lengthy" suspensions. Surely if a player strikes another behind play causing serious injury the offending player should be out for AT LEAST the same amount of games as the injured player?
I heard it was right in front of the umpire 1Leg, thats why he got 4.
Gee.....some people get carried away.
Yeh, in front of the umpire, but not the one in control. It was 40m from the ball. A fractured eye socket, with the possibility of surgery (inc. plastic surgery) isn't getting carried away.

Not 100% so I will just say it's more than most clubs would pay even for an ex AFL player let alone someone who may not be there next season. I think he needs some quick cash!

I heard he's definately at Gepps next year, why didn't Gepps just pay the extra $50 knowing you'd have him next year? Surely $700 is F#@& All to Gepps Cross, especially after paying what they were to Stead, Carter, Holmes, Heuskes, Leys.....a few years ago!

News to me! Gepps didn't even talk $$$'s to him. My mail is he told them what Fitzroy offered, no go Gepps, end of story..Not sure your details of the other names are correct either NM, some inflated numbers were doing the traps in their time.
At least 2 of those named were worth whatever they got, Adam Heuskes played for very much less that any ex AFL player could have got anywhere. He was offered huge dollars and played /coached one year for $3K. Great club man!!

NM, it depends on who told you the numbers. Let me just say that I do know the numbers, but, I have heard some ridiculous stories about the same thing, I'm not about to disclose anything but geez there has been some crap thrown around.
Some of it even instigated by a couple of those players. Steed and Carter worth every cent of it incidentally, most of it came back through the club anyway.

Agree, alot of inflated stories regarding there payments, i know i've heard them all, i won't disclose the figure but i can say i don't know anyone currently getting those figures in A1.
I can understand Jacko standing his ground previously regarding over the top payments & we all should remember this is Amateur Football & good on him for doing so, no one should be payed over $400 in Amateur Footy.
The two you named that put alot of it back over the bar etc set the standard as far as giving back & supporting there club ( should be more of it ) not like alot of todays selfish blokes that always have there hand out to take & p!ss off to town when recieved, not giving a sh!t about supporting there club.

Standing your ground on an money issue is one thing, not having the decency to ring them for a chat is another. The judgement was made by the coach that they wouldn't stay but he didn't give them the option to make that decision for themself. IMO they would have stayed for less, Carts told me he would but wasn't given the chance. Considering that year we lost 16 players, they might have come in very handy and may have enabled the club to remain in Div 1. IMO
