Faulkner is a gun..... Showed plenty if promise when introduced to senior footy as a 15 yo a couple of years back by one very astute B grade coach at the time...... Hey Blackroo ! ;)

I think it had more to do with the quality of the management of the team

If he can kick a ball without doing some sort of injury then it can't have anything to do with HBF.......or smash a car window

How's Matty Travis been going. Played with him a few years back, was real quick and a game winner

Sh!thouse effort by us today, losing to Lutheran by 5 goals. They just wanted it more than us and got the two points, we were hardly in the contest all day, they did it so easy for most of the game. We had absolutely no help from the umpires though, they f**king killed us. I think most of the umpires we've had this year have been pretty good, the ones today were awful.

Can someone please elaborate on this? Have heard some pretty nasty versions of the story and to be honest sounds like a very harsh penalty is in order, but before we begin to speculate would like to know the full story?

See her point but its only going to make it worse at this stage because everyone is jumping to a conclusion and as I said above, people will begin to speculate and make it worse

How does 3rd party rumours make it worse? Leave it to people who are in charge.

Disgusting act behind the play by one A grade Elizabeth player in what was- up until this event- a well spirited, high quality, fair day of amateur footy. Commiserations to the Elizabeth players who made the effort to travel across town and played hard and fair.. It's always difficult doing the hour plus journey and winning but I'm sure both Elizabeth grades will be a good chance come finals. As I said, most of our opposition today played in good spirits, but I hope the young fella who has sent our captain (not a paid player with a full time job and a family) to hospital with multiple fractures to the face has a tough time sleeping tonight. I would hope Elizabeth Footy Club would take their own action to condemn this kind of behaviour.
Lots of very upset guys at the club tonight, sombre mood in spite of 3/3 wins and a couple of important milestones in the C grade game.

As for the B's umpiring that was alluded to just before, Kenilworth kicked 4 goals to 0 in the first quarter, with a decent breeze but with very little umpiring decisions.. In the second half, when the rain came and umpiring decisions followed I heard the umpire cop pedophelia, homosexual and cheating abuse repeatedly.. About three guys screamed bloody murder because 'ya can't handball to yourself!' and he even copped it for not over ruling the other umpire. Fair whack for a bloke getting paid about $50 for an hours work in the rain. Any quality team looks forward to finals with impartial umpires and I'm sure if we meet Elizabeth in the B's it will be another close fought intense contest and the best team will win.

Moving on- massive challenge for the Kookas at Northhaven next week.

some of the abuse I've heard towards recreational umpires over the years is pretty disgusting in the SAAFL. I had a crack at the beginning of the year and really hated it, so I gave it away. I was prepared to cop abuse about decisions (or in my case, lack thereof) but when it got personal, That was it from me, chucked it in. My umpiring career lasted 6 weeks!!
I'd rather be at home coppin abuse from the mrs for free and at least gettin stuff done around the house haha

Duncs, doing the umpiring is a very tough gig. Do you still get out there and watch them play?

To the Elizabeth player that hit our captain today. The guy that you hit is a true gentleman of the game and of the Kenilworth club. He enjoys his footy and plays for the love of the game. I hope this injury that he copped doesnt mean he has an early retirement to football.

It was a another good day for the club with 3 wins again. Which is 3 weeks in a row now.

If behind the play incident is as serious as reported here, the perpetrator's Club should take some of the responsibility... A fine or loss of premiership points would be incentive enough to educate their players to maintain a moral and on-field discipline ....whilst a life ban on the thug if "proven" guilty would not be unjust given his actions.......More so if the injury forces the early retirement of a player from the game.
