decision to play at brahma lodge was based on the comfortability of being close to the home ground and so my family can come out and enjoy a saturday without having to drive 1+ hours round trips. I honestly dont care if it was div 1 or 6, football is football and if the team im playing in is good enough to be in a high grade then that is a bonus and comes with the territory, not saying i dont wanna to play a higher grade though, just for the moment there are more important things on my mind. As for the money side of things its a bonus to get anything for playing a game i enjoy and love with mates on a saturday.
hope that answered most of the questions :)

Where has the concern for the family suddely come from? No mention of the $150.00 for playing a game you love sooooo much and how long did you play at Two Wells, 2 seasons, so it took a while for the dollar to drop.

Not exactly sure how you justify nothing, but anyway...

...I can feel the love already out at the lodge. Does this mean he'll get to play whatever position he wants? ;)

I guess our club was fortunate with the situation that presented itself with a coach looking for a job and our coach at the time choosing another position. If you asked the playing group last year if we wanted to keep our current coach we would have said yes..as things had it he left and we ended up with Payne....we were fortunate enough for him to bring some players with him to the club (this isnt unusual as most people would be aware some players build strong friendships with coaches and will follow them). I would imagine if Payne coached at another team they would be having the same discussion over there also.

Personally im glad that he has brought a top group of blokes over with him...apart from clearly having skills they are great to socialize with after training which is just as important in rebuilding a club as having a bunch of blow ins who train and dont hang around to socialize.

I cant speak for everyone at B/L of course but im guessing most people are hoping these guys will hang around for a few years and help build BL into a strong club on the field and a great club to be around off of the field.

azzaisbest - I seem to recall seeing him at training on the odd occasion so he is either keeping himself fit or playing

That all sounds fair enough, but what happens if Payne decides to move on? It's always going to be tough to rebuild a club with only one junior side. That's what I'd be putting all the resources and money into, not on players that will leave as soon as they get a better offer...

i get put where im told just like everyone else, only position i wanna be in is where the coach thinks im best, weather it be full forward, on the ball, or in the backlines. But im sure payney will have a fair idea of where our players will play best.

Its hard to say we can simply hope that he is true to his word, and i have no reason to believe he wont be and that he is in it for the long haul and is commited to helping rebuild BL. You could ask the same question of any club "What would you do if your coach moved on and took players with him" You would suck it up and try and rebuild.

From what i have seen in my time there BL has been treading water. Without success its difficult to attract new players...without those new players and just the same cattle running around its difficult to have that success.

Saying simply pump money into Jr football is unrealistic...where is this money coming from? As for the players leaving...by the sounds of things most have come over for less then what they were on at previous clubs....and judging by some of the rumors its alot less.

From a club point of view we can only hope for success...and you cant blame us for that...if that happens we need to continue building the club so if they do move on we have a strong base to work from?
