Nairne would have won easily even if they had not recruited this year, they were missing 3 or 4 of their best players friday night also. Its an arguement that will never be resolved but top hills country teams would be high div 3 and would win games in div 2, i think teams like callington and cambrai have given the league a poor reputation in recent seasons.

Don't mean to be a smart arse but I doubt hills div 2 sides would win games in div 2. Div 2 in terms of depth is the 2nd best league in SA behind div 1.

Div 4 that would win games in div 3 I would believe.

Kersbrook (Hills Country) defeated Golden Grove and Elizabeth (Div 4) comfortably in trials last year and so too with Nairne during their season. This might give a better indication of Hills Country Vs Div 6. Also look at the Sedan Cambrai (Around Bottom Hills Country) Vs HDFC (Div 7) trial which was fairly competitive last week. So would have thought the ML V Nairne trial match result would have been expected by both sides.

This argument is analogous to the "my Dads a fireman and could beat your dad" argument from year 3.

As an aside my Dad was a spare parts salesman at Motormate and wouldn't have been able to fight a new born kitten so I always lost those battles.

That said Warrior, who was missing from your line up? Interesting trial because I would have thought Hills Div 2 would be around Div 6 comfortably. :)

I could tell you Yank Man but then I'd have to kill you :D

So you think Kersbrook & Echunga are Div 6 standard?

No, so kill me. Hahahaha, the top 6 yes, but not the full 21. I am lucky to be involved at Yankalilla this year and they played in the GSFL grand final in 2012, their bottom 6 or 7 would be lucky to have made MP's Grand Final team in Div 7.

Oh the great Mick Malthouse managed to get his premiership winning team into the post again, any chance you might post and not put in how u managed to take a bottom team to winning the flag. Nairne were very good, Mawson Lakes crap and we look forward to Div 7 next season.

Its about time for a new market I reckon and I think Lockleys might be in trouble from Mawson Lakes for shortest price.

With I think the second biggest influx of players in the SAAFL (aside from junior transfers) this year and their promising debut in Div 6 last year (3rd) it would be this book makers folly to not have Mawson Lakes as equal favourites with perennial Div 6 powerhouse Lockleys. Zedmans talking down of his own recruits has seen CLG fall behind Ro$ewater and Wetminders OS (hey, I'm from the Marion Meatballs), but only just, should still be a contender.

Rumours abound that TTG might not even field a team in Div 6 this year has seem them blow out to $100. Blackfriars, Central United, Adelaide Uni and Mitchell Park holding firm.

Anyway here is the new market with a 32% loading.

Lockleys - $4
Mawson Lakes - $4
Rosewater - $6.50
Westminster OS - $6.50
Colonel Light Gardens - $7

Blackfriars OS - $8
Central United - $8
Mitchell Park - $12
Adelaide Uni - $30
Tea Tree Gully - $100

I don't know why you try and talk yourselves down, you clearly think you're top 4 if you're openly taunting the team you rank 4th.

Not at all, a keen eye will notice I did shorten our odds due to some good recruitment.

We're still behind everyone other than Adelaide Uni and TTG in my opinion. Yet to see evidence to suggest otherwise.

How is saying they're in a good position and should be a contender taunting them?

Yeah I like stirring old mate zedman up but that's only because I know he has a short fuse and it amuses me (and others). Nothing to do with where I think the teams will actually end up.

Or did you mean my Wetminders barb? If you went to either Marion Primary (which I did) or Westminster Primary you would know thats what we used to call eachother when we had to share an after school care facility.

Will lose Noske, Mount, Dow, Quinn, Chambers, Van Dude, Roughton and others to ether Div 1, Country or retirement.

A couple of the lads I have spoken to have suggested that perhaps a consolidated side from the remnants of the Div 7 GF sides might go OK in a C1 or C2...

Who knows, their C Grade is in a tough spot though.

1 GF appearance in the last god knows how many years hardly makes for a perennial powerhouse

2013 does sound promising for the Demons though, by all accounts there has been some very good recruiting over the off season

I've heard the same thing. They're only getting 10-15 blokes to their C/D Grade trainings.

Always been pretty strong though. Without checking the stats I can only recall one year where Locks didn't make the 5.

He is. He played last year as well and was very handy for the B's off half back.

Looking good thus far and should be able to play a role again pending new baby commitments.
