Good side. No stars. Just a lot of contributors.

On a positive note, we had a fundraising night for an injured lad at the club on saturday night. There was a an incidnet in the b grade agaisnt Adelaide university where he clashed head and then smashed his head on the turf and was consequently carried away on a stretcher. Got taken to hospital where he spent a week or so and then was moved to a rehab clinic where he was meant to stay for 4-6 weeks. Somehow, the fella managed to get out within a week and is recovering well now thank god!

The club had a good and services auction and managed to raise several thousand dollars. Was an awesome intiative put forward by very old CLub coach Anthony Forby.

DOnations came from left right and centre, great to see rival clubs like Hneley helping out as well. Great community effort.

Thats what good teams are made of..lots of contributors.

Thats a great story Turbo..

If we are going to win a game anytime soon, its going to be this one.. fingers and toes crossed!

Uni by plenty
SHOC over Edwardstown

Modbury and Phos - what a blockbuster, Modbury are not unbeatable by any means, however, it will mean PHOS having to race out of the blokes to keep up with them though. Will the Weed play? Might just get them over the line if so.. dunno! too hard to pick!

Leaves Athelstone and SMOSH - GF replay - hopefully without the same result. Are SMOSH the Raggies bogey team? Doubt it, but it wont be a big margin. Athelstone.

And I quote "it will mean PHOS having to race out of the "BLOKES" to keep up with them"-could be painful. FC I do hope that the allocated umpires will be up to scratch for this blockbuster OR fizzer??

Agreed this will be a cracker round and could shape the table for the mid year break.

Think Uni's will be too strong
Edwardstown by a slim margin 1-2 goals
Shame PHOS are going to have injuries cos i think the Hawks get some guns back into the side this week. Would have been good to see two full strength sides square up.
The Div 3 Grandfinal rematch will be a beauty but from talk of injuries at SMOSH and with the form of some Raggies players i think revenge could be sweet!
FC this is your big chance to get a win i think.. good luck to ya. My guess Scotch in a close one.

What if one team runs away with it kicks a bag and wins by 5 or 6 goals; you would think that would go against the grain of what people think can be a tighter 1-2 point contest.

I must admit FC the anticipation to this weeks blockbuster has me chaffing at the bit, the match ups, the crowd, the umpires?, just will be an enormous day out. Will you be there in your official capacity?

Modbury should be back to full strength this week and unfortunately PHOS sound like they have a few out. IM sure it will still be close no matter who is on the park. Grass Roots should prob make an appearance as it still promises to be the match of the minor round fro div 2

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Uni seem to be still not as strong as it was suggested before the season started. They used school hollidays as an excuse for the first few losses. Are they at full strength yet and How far off the pace are they? Were pre season expectations to high? SHOC are competative but not a true threat i dont think and to loose by 7 goals would suggest they are stil a fair way off being a contender.

In Uni's defence, they didn't blow their own horn and say that they were going to be unbeatable.

It was assumed to be this way by everyone on this forum as they were dropping from div 1 for the first time ever and all the blokes that went overseas last year were supposed to come back and make it all better again.

Obviously this hasn't happened. Meh! Everyone has an off year. I wouldn't be showing too much concern over it.

On the other hand.. if you were a team that was right up there in the premiership favourite stakes and haven't won a game yet...well then thats a different story.. :?

agreed.... Not much gets said about UNi's recruits/returns are they actually out there?

As for PNU they seem to lack that x factor/game breaker. They seem to have a reasonable defense led by the red headed bloke and a gun forward however there was an aboriginal lad that tried hard but wasnt his conditions last week that looked dangerous. could be handy in a few years.
