Apart from the hike it was a pleasant experience !! Having spoken regularly to a workmate who plays for the Cobras I was interested to see what they were like and they didn't disappoint. We were 5 or 6 of our key regulars down, but even if they were in, the quality of your side would have still stood out. Still doesn't solve the lifelong discussion re- SFL vs SAAFl but it was certainly nice to play someone who we knew were the best in their league.
Oval was very wide and spongy and the cricket pitch set up was a bit strange but still in pretty good nick. Rooms and bar area were nice and your lads seemed a good bunch who will have another good year. Would be nice to reciprocate the game next year up our way ;)

Is a 70% player X better than a 100% player Y???

It's certainly an interesting scenario..... a 70% Scotty P or Scudds would still be valuable IMO but what is the risk for long term and the whole season and is the risk of harming that long term prospect worth throwing them in for round 1 ??

Scudds is one im not sure is fit for this week. I know he had a tight glute last week and missed.

A couple of the other injuries are bruised heels. Seriously painful but managable. You lose some ability to accelerate and turn and one decent knock will mean the rest of the came in pain. Unlike a soft tissue strain or tear though, it wont render you useless.

 tightar$e???

So fellow Burra's....

What's the feeling about this weeks games ?

A's need a lift and some confidence and momentum, B's will again be tested to see if they can deliver, C's will have a tough game against PAOC but one they should hopefully win considering the talent in the side and D's will have a tough one against Hectorville at Daly Oval.

i think all 4 games will be a good test to see where we are at even tho its only early days...

im hoping for 4 wins, but if that does happen will be very impressed with the guys. C & D trained very well last night considering the conditions.. If that bring that into sat that will help a great deal

Im hoping the back up voice and the run improve on last week...

and just little things like smarter options and not blaxing away.

gotta preform under pressure.

great win for the A's yesterday, all the boys played well, who ever said college sides are soft are spot on the money PAOC are terrible !
Bad luck to the magoo's, but if PAOC are the bench mark then we are in for a great season.
C's kept their winning streak from last year going, well done boys
and the D grade had a tuff hit out, 21 goal winners
just need the 18's to get up today and it turns into a pretty good weekend
GO THE BURRAS

Was back in Adel over the weekend, so went and watched the Golden Grove D Grade game...

What can I say - timekeeper was running 22 min qtrs and the Golden Grove umpire was a bloody joke..
Yellow carded some Hectorville bloke - for telling him he can't umpire for shit..
When did people get yellow carded for telling the truth?? :D :D

Then in the car on the way home he has the audacity to tell me he doesn't look like a Hermit Crab in that stupid orange outfit (with the boxer shorts hanging out the bottom)..

I only headed out to the D Grade because the bloke umpiring was my brother... Kale...

Don't worry - I gave him a hard time on the way home about the boxer shorts and white t-shirt hanging out under his hermit crab outfit.. He didn't actually umpire badly (except for sending a bloke off for telling the truth   ) - but when it's a 20 goal game, they are generally not too hard to umpire..

All I can say is - I'm glad I didn't have to wear that horrible orange thing when I was umpiring the C's or B's a few years ago... (if that's what you call what I did)..

I gave up the umpiring when I moved to Melbourne..
25kg's heavier these days and haven't been out for a run in over 18 months..
except to kick the footy with the 2 little fellas..

I actually miss running around with you guys - was a good few years.. a good group of blokes!!
I know Mum and Dad miss the club also..

The GG D grade umpire was terrible when TTG played them in round one.
