Please post names of these people who said we would win by 10 goals, doubt any of them would be from HV.
Full credit to Pooraka today in both grades, was a very good contest in the A grade, and the 4 goal jump the b grade got early on was probably the difference in the end. Would like to also send condolences to everyone involved within your footy club for the loss of your team manager(?) this week. Definitely inspired your boys to lift that bit more.
We were aware the bulls were to be no pushover, especially coming down from A3...however that one is put away as of now, and I for one cant wait to get out and redeem against salisbury west (another side looking to redeem given their effort today) for our past players day and reunion of our 83 premiership side.
A big Thank you to the Valley boys for the respect they show before the A-Grade game, Nothing was made official, It was a minute Silence for Roy Maxsted who had sadly passed away who would have been there handing out cups of cordial and sweeping, doing all the things that silent volunteers do, yet without them we couldn't field teams, I know every club has these special individuals, Ours is all the poorer for not having Roy around.
Having said that I was a little surprised at the lack of players that came in for a glass of squash after the game, Generally, we extend the visiting team a few jugs after the Game to quench their thirst and it has been reciprocated over the course of the year, but alas no players in the club after the game. I'm not sure it was the culture in Division 5 so I won't be too critical but I think we would hope that a contingent of players, officials or spectators or all come in for a drink after the game and continue the good competitive spirit that has made our game the best to be involved in. (Er...CBCOC and Pulteney OC not sure where we can go, but happy to extend the same courtesy time permitting.)
