Has a club ever folded mid year?

Ovies? Wingies?

I'm pretty sure we've had C's or D's chuck it in after a few rounds in div 7.

Is it time Mitchell Park and Flinders Uni bite the bullet and really start exploring a merger? Both struggling with numbers and quality of depth. Flinders can offer a womens team, while Mitchell Park has the oval and facilities, as Flinders ground will be surely swallowed up in a few years by development.

With Marion now in the comp, all three clubs are within a 3km radius playing in the same league. Player pool in the area would be spread thin amongst all three.

If you was a decent coach and cared about a kids development, rather than putting him on your bench for 60% of games for the next 2 years you instead encourage him to go get full games at mitchell park.

18 full games vs 18 one & half quarters for the season. Gee i wonder what be better for the kid

Interesting question heading into this season..... Is a Div 7 team better than a C2 team?

Spose we'll find out soon enough :)

I can't see either of them entertaining the thought, Flinders Uni may have been on the arse end of a few floggings over the years but they continue to field two sides and front up each week with their own identity, Mitchell Park are in their 50th year and have a proud history.

Life isn't always Roses in Paris but sometimes you just have to ride out the hard times, Smithfield were knocking on heavens door a few years ago and somehow got up and running again.

Haha

Rather than next year we all mourning the loss of a beautiful club, how about each club within 10km go on a recruiting drive and at their next training session speak up about how a local club is on its last legs and every club in the inner southern suburbs is looking to donate the services a 2 players to mitchell park

Lol

Or....

IF you are a current player reading this AND it seems your set to be a 2018 bench boy at your Club... how about you go see the mighty mitchell park lions with a mate this thursday after 5:30 and sign up

You might actually get 4 quarters of footy this weekend

I'd use capitals for Mitchell, Park and Thursday. I think punctuation goes a long way when you're trying to advertise.
