The Cows wrote:Please don't get me wrong my shot is at the leauge as i know it is difficult being a club ump. If we can't have 2 SAAFL umps for any given game then maybe we should look at 2 club umps. It's no good having one bloke who pays every free and another who is used to letting the play go a bit. I am all for letting it go but sometimes that can cause major issues. As for Smithfield i thought they were mainly good lads apart from the odd tussle it was played in the right spirit.

I totally agree with that comment mate, seen it bigtime at a game I was at on the weekend, some of the players commented about as they had to keep looking up to see which umpire was nearby.
I'm sure the umpire didn't show up because of some emergency considering there was two listed and in other games it was stated that the club had to supply one.
The dude would've been pretty rooted by half time of the A's, I've umpired 4 matches in a day before and when you know you have more games to come you preserve your energy, when the end is near and suddenly someone moves the end further away it is a hell of lot harder to get through the next one, especially when it's a two and a half hour journey.
Good to hear that they played in the right spirits, there's a big emphasis on it out there.

Mitchell Park are definitely the team to beat. Had some handy ins during the offseason and their depth has improved significantly.

On the other hand, again SHOC have no one from their Grand Final team playing again and just making the 5 could be a battle. But after yesterday's hardfought win, things are looking up.

Congratulations to Modbury FC for getting rid of last years biggest jerks in the SAAFL. RIP Flexers and please don't come back. No one likes you

It has certainly come at a cost. Not having a Grand Final coach asked back for the next season, along with a host of players leave the club makes it hard to keep everyone enthused. Follow that with a D2R coach who returns following a bottom place the previous season and questions get asked. Plus his son wins the B&F when others were far better and now it gets really ugly.

Short term pain, Long term Gain IMO. You had a bunch of blokes playing for themselves running around in your Div 7 Reserves last year at MFC's expense. Your Div 7 A grade have already won a game this season, when last year they didn't look like they'd win at all. Yes Modbury's Div 7 Reserves side had some blokes on the wrong side of 35 playing, but they also had a lot that's not, and choose to be 'D' grade heros looking for a cheap premiership. Fortunately they didn't get one :)

You been out to MFC this year HAWKBOY???
I am not saying that your comments arent warranted but there is no way the club could risk brining the D grade coach back and having to go through another year like 2011, the committee was promised that it wasnt going to happen again in 2011 and not only did it continue but it got worse, the C grade are flourishing under the new coach and the A grade squad are really coming together, depth is much better than it has been in the last few years and minus a few D graders who were new to the club most players are back out playing C & B grade.. your comments are certainly interesting.

I have a real distaste for anyone that goes onto these forums, claims to be a supporter of there club and then publicly slanders them and brings up past issues that have been rectified, things happened in 2011 that we were not happy about as a club, the feeling and unity this year has been a major step up and great things are happening, if you do support MFC then maybe you should get to the club and help rectify your problems in person instead of being a keyboard warrior and making 'big changes' from your computer. No doubt you clicked like on KONY 2012 and felt you saved the children of Uganda as well, top shelf effort pal.

Sass, Make your mind up. Are my comments warranted as you first say or am I distasteful for having a say? I have been out every year for many years. I have given more time and effort to the club than most and I surely am entitled to my opinion. If you think everything is rosy you may need to grow up or get a grip. I made be a keyboard warrior, but I don't mind people having a say. Try that for a change. Youngy lasted 1 season as B Grade coach and was not required back because he couldn't get the players to perform. Gorby coached them to last and is back again. Go figure?

My issue isnt in the content of what you are saying, only in the forum that you are choosing to share it. . i have been very very vocal on alot of the topics you mention in your posts, but i choose the correct time and place to make my point and changes have been made because of my actions. Advising the SAAFL supporters of inhouse issues that are in the past doesnt do much for the image of the club you have been a part of for many years.

haha, no mate, Anthony Young, not even sure if Mark Young knows when we train! Anyway, all of this is ancient history, especially the youngy saga. And last years D grade coach was offered the C grade role this year but due to time commitments and travel wasnt able to commit for the time needed by a Div 7 coach.
