Seems more than reasonable.

We charge $5 for car parking as well when we host finals. Don't see the issue - you have to make the money back for hosting finals somehow. You don't like it, park outside the gate and walk the 30 metres to the oval......first world problems!!

I remember charging $5 per car for a final a few years ago, a rival club had their trainer and 4 others in a car park in the pub carpark across the road and struggled with all of their medical paraphernalia across the road to save themselves $1 each and the opportunity to park 8 metres away from their changeroom door.
It was funny to watch.

With our Rugby League finals there is an entry cost, but a team sheet complete with support staff e.g. trainer, coaches, runner etc is submitted prior to the weekend and these people either get free entry or a reimbursed from the club.

Surely something similar could happen in amatuer league if you want to charge people at the gate?

It's not broken so it doesn't need fixing, as long as they don't charge for minor round games.

We had the other clubs submit team and official lists and let them through without charge.

What's the issue? It's not as if paying to get your car into finals is a new phenomenon

Has anyone ever considered or tried charging during the minor round at all?

standard pretty much everywhere else you go. Morphett Vale v Reynella yesterday the only people parking outside the gate were the ones that got there late and couldn't get a park inside. Cars were two deep around the ground. Nice earner for the club every 2nd week

I'm sure we'll forgive the racist comments that he made towards some of our supporters as he was clearly suffering from some kind of intoxication.

Considering the close proximity to the players race to the bar, it might have been nice to have match officials besides the pooraka ones in this area, but perhaps they were busy with the umpires as they were copping plenty as well, but that is only a suggestion.

Otherwise it was pretty well hosted, Young blokes on the gate offered to hand back my $5 if i couldn't find a park, which i thought was decent, an offer that wasn't needed as parks were still found.

And from our point of view both A's and B's were both played in good spirits and were both good spectacles of finals football in their respective grades.

nice attempt at a troll bulldogs (another ingle farm person riding the red wave this week)..if you bothered to read back you would know all about it.

you ingle farm blokes are quick to pour shit on other clubs but whinge and cry the minute anyone says anything about yours.

how about he without sin cast the first stone.

perhaps if you all kept your mouths shut your grand final wouldn't have ended in carnage last year.

Never understand why this is a big deal in the SAAFL. Country leagues charge for entry every game and prices always go up during finals.

This. I'm happy to pay $5 to see a decent game of footy, which most finals should be.

The reason why is because its frowned upon because a majority of clubs in the SAAFL either use the parklands or their council oval simply does not have the facilities to enforce an entry fee.

also if you don't charge for regular season games
more people will go, more money spent over bar and canteen etc

im sure a lot of people don't wanna pay 5 or 10 to go watch a div 4 regular season game
but paying for a finals game is no issue at all imo.
