Maybe so Ian,but your league obviously had no other choices to operate under. My argument is that if it can be avoided (The travel) then it should be. If you're league had the population to travel locally I am sure you would choose that over travelling 120 kms. Also if it takes you 1-1:10 hours to travel from Marion to Elizabeth on a busy Saturday it equates to the same time that it takes to travel 90-100 km on a country road. Listen I dont have an issue travelling to Elizabeth, all I am doing is trying to make sence why clubs numbers are down. I honestly do see the sence of creating north and south leagues aswell. Will be interesting if any clubs in the SFL are still getting belted week-in,week-out in a year or 2. Because there will be 1 thats gotta say enough is enough and they bite the bullet and apply for the SAAFL to save their club. I beleive once 1 club takes the leap, there will be more to follow......Then the North and South SAAFL will come in to existance.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Well im sure you'll work it out. As you said we might as well leave it, for there to be sepearte divisions the SFL and SAAFL need to merge, and I cant see this happening soon.

I guess the only way for those clubs who feel hard done by over the travelling to stop that being a problem is to progress up the grades where there's a more even balance of sides isn't it...

I don't think the travel is the major component of why teams are dropping out. But the economic situation of the moment is most probably the factor. It's not the cost of putting petrol in the car to travel, but the cost of life in general.
