No disrespect intended, it's just what we do.
I wasn't aware there was a right and wrong way of celebrating a victory?!

Dols wrote:It has got to sacred. Who cares what the opposition think. What about the couple of hundred of supporters that watch your team from week to week. Don't they deserve to be part of the win. Further Running out onto the ground after a b grade win I used to love the fact I could hear them singing the club song. It made me want to win just that bit more for the opportunity to do the same at the end of my game. Nothing better than all of your supporters singing along with you.

Been in footy since JC played Full Back for Jerusalem....they call it a War Cry OR Victory song for a reason. Was never meant to be disrespectful always a celebration of your efforts that day. Happens to all of us....you need to learn how to win and how to lose, it's part of that process.
The only reason AFL teams don't sing it on the field is because at the MCG with 80,000 you could get safety issues. They still play it of course on the PA every chance they get.
In our League I recon, you win and you get to sing it wherever and as often as you like. On the ground, in the change rooms wherever......never meant to be disrespectful just the rights earned by the winners.
Agreed tho if you win by plenty against the bottom side you will tone it down a bit, out of respect for yourselves and everyone else. Win a game under pressure and you've earned the right to sing it loud and proud.
