After doing a bit of a number crunch, based on your criteria, that would mean a team of well over 120 players. Not really what we were after but keep the suggestions coming.X Runna wrote:I'm going to apologise in advance to all at Mitchell Park and to anybody else who may take offence to it, and I hope you will understand. I appreciate everything the players, coaches, committee and volunteers have to go through with the clubs who may struggle, and my hat is off to them, BUT..........when I read the title of this thread (after a few sherbets) and I say it with absolutely no malice, nastiness, derision whatsoever - my very first thought was........
QUALIFICATIONS
1. MUST have won a game playing for Mitchell Park
2..................
3..................
4..................
Again sorry, but I p*ssed myself so hard I had to tell someone.
Please take it with a pinch of salt, it was just "THERE".

That would be a high honour indeed, but we reserved the biggest honour of the night for Nat McDonnell who became a life member of the Mitchell Park Football Club. Nat deserves every accolade that comes his way. He is a wonderful footballer and an even better person.unknown source wrote:morell wrote:For those interested the Mitchell Park Team of the Decade was announced at our presentation night last Friday night.

I can understand that, and for Luke, he has done something incredibly stupid things on the field, no doubt about that.Choccies wrote:Unfortunately Morell, most people can only gain their opinion of someone on how they act on the footy field... Yes this probably isn't fair but for some of us it's all we can go by...

If hope your selection criteria for a Brahama Lodge Team of the Decade is just as strict as you are purporting ours should have been. Brahma Lodge are a great footy club and have had a couple of good years results wise on the field, but if you're going to have a crack at MPFC for our supposed thuggish rep you had best get your facts straight:unknown source wrote:glad you didnt make one of the twins captain

He didn't make contact with him and it was more of a glancing kick, but you're right, I thought he was lucky to only get 2 matches for what was a pretty ordinary thing to do. I think Luke has improved this year, we struggled and struggled and were obviously very frustrated. Luke played nearly every game, including some B Grade games and was a complete saint.Iron Fist wrote:morell wrote:I can understand that, and for Luke, he has done something incredibly stupid things on the field, no doubt about that.Choccies wrote:Unfortunately Morell, most people can only gain their opinion of someone on how they act on the footy field... just curious to what the automatic penalty is for an offence like that??
I dont know these blokes at all but as choccies said, alot of us only get to know a bloke by how they act on the field.
I remember some of the blokes I played against when I was younger I hated with a passion, a few years later played with them and they were some of the best blokes Ive ever met!

Yeah I was playing and would have been 15m from it. The Paralowie player tackled Luke who got pinged for HTB, Luke got up quicker and the Paralowie player then grabbed at Luke's lower leg. Luke swiped/kicked at him with his leg and missed. It wasn't full blooded boot but it wasn't exactly a flick either.newbloke wrote:morell wrote:He didn't make contact with him and it was more of a glancing kick, but you're right, I thought he was lucky to only get 2 matches for what was a pretty ordinary thing to do. Mate if that was the game agaisnt Paralowie a few seasons ago at your ground it was nothing like that. I was there watching some mates play and it happend right in front of us.
Shane Hailes tackles Luke who hets caught holding the ball. Shane falls to the ground in the tackle and when Luke got up, Shane was still on the ground. Luke took a full blooded kick at Shane who was lucky enought to roll out of the way.
Lucky Shane didnt belt him.
That is the truth.
