Huge effort by the club

Never been i Div 2. Have come from Div 6 9 years ago.

Obviously the players and Coaching staff deserve the credit but t goes to show when you have great administrators in place the club structure becomes sustainable and the on-field success follows. Big shout out to Rob Curnow who spent a few years as their footy manager and did great things and bought in quality people.

Unless it’s changed, Matt Lucas has been the footy director since about 2020, I think curnow was/is president for a couple years

Yeah not sure exactly who does what but have had both Matty Dukes and Rob Curnow on Community Bounce and knew they were both key administrators. Have done great things. Matty still regularly messages me to ask about players. Very pro-active. Great people and when i have needed support both have been all to happy to have a chat with me.

I had Henley going 20-0 pre-season so they are the red hot favorites but would it be the ultimate Cinderella story if the local little brother could upset the super power with the footy factory. Hopefully its a good GF.

Its probably happened a few times but pretty significant stat that they play each other in all 3 grades next Saturday. I think Lockleys will get the chocolates in the B grade as they have Coaching genius of Shaun "The Beard" Williams in their corner.

Of all the 3 GF on Saturday the one that is guaranteed is the B Grade. Lockleys won’t come within 13 goals of Henley. In the 2 games this year Henley won by 75 and 90 points and they still have players to come in as Henley have a couple back for the A Grade. The depth of Henley is massive and they needed to go up to Div 2 because the quality from Div 2 to 3 is way too big. Kudos to Lockleys for continuing to climb the divisions. Only 1 thing fix ur oval. It was shocking when we played there in round 18.

More likely to be at Woodville.

Out of all this year's Grand Finals, none of them really have an out and out favourite - except this one. It's Henleys to lose

Can Lockleys be the first ever club to lose 3 grand finals, 2 years in a row?

A few negative comments made towards Lockleys now from you, not sure what your gripe is with them? Yes, I am sure they would be disappointed they’ve lost the last couples GF’s, but I don’t think anyone can be negative towards where they are as a club now & where they’re headed.
Not getting into predictions for Saturday as I don’t know enough but just looking at the two results from the games between Henley & Lockleys this year, they’ve been 2 tight games in the A Grade so would think it would be close again. But I’m not close enough to either club so you may have a better idea than me

What on earth are you on about? I have no gripe with Lockleys, even the Lockleys people would be cringing at your implication.

Hell, I'd love them to win, but im going off statistical information alone.

Their GF record recently isn't fantastic. They've won one out of their last 5 GF appearances at A grade level.

and with Henley being unbackable favourites, unfortunately there's that chance that it could happen again. I've not said anywhere that I hope this to be the case, because I don't wish this at all.

Matt Lucas and the committee at Lockleys have done wonders over the past few years to get them where they are now and thoroughly deserve their promotion

So you're having a crack at me for saying negative things against Lockleys but then self confess you don't know anything about them in the next breath.

Lord f***** spare me

My tip, heart says Lockleys but head says Henley

Didnt Locks beat Henley in their last match up?

In the mid 90s they got to Div 3 but never been higher, great achievement

Henley had several key outs in that fixture and Locks played exceptionally well.

Indeed, much of my time there was in Div 3 and 4 but to get into Div 2 for the first time in the clubs history is outstanding work by all involved.

Looks like it’ll be a big night at Henley tonight with the B grade winning easily and the A grade well on their way to victory

After today have lockleys lost 6 grand finals in 2 years? Great effort with double promotion but surely that's a record

Henley too good yesterday, Locks looked to be going OK late in the 1st quarter and for most of the 2nd but then the floodgates opened in the 3rd and it was all over.

Yes, this is a record -not one that any club wants.

Sadly, I called this earlier in the week and even though anything can happen on GF day, unfortunately anyone playing v Henley this year was always going to be well and truly up against it, whether it was Unley, us, Lockleys or North Haven

Despite the scorelines, it still makes Lockleys a better club than 8 others in D3 in 2024
