Was their full forward whining all game again?
We played them the week before and ( yes, they won and generally outplayed us) it got to the stage where one of Henley's supporters got out of her car and told him that he was embarrassing their club for his carrying on. He then didn't stop and went off at her.

He did complain about pretty much every umpiring decision that didn't go Henley's way.

Stonie is a great man, it is so funny hearing him go nuts :) Stonie 'Shane Stone' is actually a former A-Grade Captain. Its just a white line fever thing, just having fun out there on his day off

He might be an ex a grade captain and a great bloke but his behaviour was, simply, crap. Non-stop whining and complaining to both umpires, swearing at spectators and goal umpires and general demeanour meant that he may have been the only one having fun. As an ex A grade captain, I'd expect a better example to his team mates. As I said before, when your own supporters tell you to stop you've crossed the line.

I played on him for a bit yesterday and can't say his complaining was abusive or over the top, annoying would be closer to it. in saying that I spoke to him during and after the game and he seemed like a nice bloke.

Onto next week now.

Nope, but I was present. And not a vent, more of an surprised observation.
Still, this year's c1 grade is better standard (especially at the pointy end) than last year's grade. At the moment with only 1 game between first and sixth, the grade is very close and whoever misses out on the finals could be rightly a bit peeved especially as any side seems capable of beating any other on any day.

get the impression with you uni boys, that your top guns only come out for marquee matches, and your stocked up you play finals or home games against goodwood saints, but your boys travelling to henley pull a cbf :)

The Blacks were far too good on Saturday, IMO both sides were clearly down on key personnel. But credit where credit is due - Uni ran harder, attacked the contests with greater intensity and played Team Football, they did not rely on any individual performances.

After a reasonably even 1st quarter, where Uni's inaccurate kicking kept the Saints in it, Uni put the foot down in a 15 minute period in the 2nd quarter, they blew us away with 4-5 unanswered goals. They then continued to control the game for the remainder of the match. Too experienced and well lead all over the ground.

am curious of the changes in the team from the week before, where they went to henley and were strong but werent too imposing being defeated by the sharks, but then the next week they smash the comps giant in goodwood saints with ease

Uni Round 10 team...

Uni Round 9 team...

spot the difference :)

7 changes from the week before against henley that played goodwood....

N.Noack - has played C1 only
S.Parker - from div 7
A.Vallelonga - mostly c1 bit of c3
D.Weekley - played a div 1 reserves game this year
C.Lane - c1 only this year
L.Rogers - c1 only this year
D.Arkun - c1 only this year

so nothing suspicious, the new players werent any big guns from the higher grades, (surprisingly)

Watch out come finals times will be very different teams
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

D weekly has also played 3 c1 games previously. He's our a grade runner and fills in when short.
S Parker has also played 3 c1 games this year as well as the div 7 games he's played.

It was much more of a different mindset at Henley with the assumption that we'd win without doing the hard things that Henley did all day and won (rightly) as a result of. We also had that lazy mindset against rocs and walkerville and narrowly escaped with wins.
Our team is very similar to the c1 side of last year and the finals team won't be much different.

I know they've been struggling to get a consistent core for several years. Friday night is much better than at the game.

strange sign and not a good sign considering it was their home game with the A's B's Cs trifecta on all day

not their first forfeit this year?

I think it was their first forfeit talking to the coach after the game. Apparently they always struggle at this time of the year.

They tried to make up for it, by starting the 2nd quarter with 19 on the field. A count was held and proved to be correct, but the umps had no idea what to do so nothing was done about it. Not that it mattered in the scheme of things.

With plenty of fill-ins the SPOC boys tried hard all day but didn't look to interested in the last quarter given the wet cold muddy conditions and score line. Good luck to them for the rest of the year,
