You'd also take into account that ROCS would be well aware that they won't have him much longer and perhaps are slowly changing game plan to not make him the main target as he has been for so many years.

Without looking at the stats of ROCS goalkickers for the year - I could be wrong.

Manuel is in the top 5 goalkickers too, so he's got help around the place that may take away from his own efforts.

My thoughts are also that goal tally isn't the most important thing in judging forwards, as it can be quite misleading sometimes.

CHF is a much harder position to play, given that a lot more of their marks and possessions are contested compared to full forwards who usually get plenty of space in front of goal to work with, and usually better delivery. Their goal tally may not be as high as a FF's, but importance to the team, and their ability can be far greater.

Again not doubting the ability of the prev full forwards mentioned, but I think sometimes CHF's don't get the credit they're due.

Spot on, and furthermore I also think that small forwards are often not given due credit, as they have to position themselves well and make good use of the ground ball most of the time.

I know in the late 90s i had the displeasure of attempting with next to no success to curtail the influence of the late Laurence Schacke for Gepps Cross. He was a big man, with a good leap, strong hands and a deadly shot at goal. I think he kicked 13.1 against Walkies one game.

Didnt have a stellar AFL career but was near unstoppable at SAAFL level. One of the best forwards i ever stood whose life tragically ended before it should have.

Also quite a good SANFL player with Sturt and Woodville-West Torrens.
