Cards in football

Its pretty hard to get sent off if you dont throw a punch. Its as simple as that! You can back up a team mate without going in and throwing punches (or headbutting). Its frustrating seeing only the retaliator getting sent off but then again if you are dumb enough to being sucked into losing your cool and throwing punches then you deserve to be carded. I'm not condoning any of the cheap incidents that happen in the first place but we all know the rules, if you have a problem with a bloke, sort it out in the play with a fair hit...far more rewarding!

Bit different when the umpire appears to see the instigation and only the retaliator cops it, also applies with kicking another player.

1 key word you have there Oi You, "appears", doesn't mean the ump actually saw it.
