Brett Baillie signed at Kapunda for 2015. Great signing for the Bombers.

A big package with some other cms crows boys, and couldn't commit to the training schedule required at the Bears due to work commitments is what I've heard.

Umpires

Well what a great discussion made by the Dalwood Football league here in Murray Bridge
Sacking the Umpires Coach after one season - what a disgrace.
Surely to sack someone after a season then the only reason would be that almost all the umpires are against him.
Well I can assure you this was not the case.
But hang on the league makes the appointments but did they bother to speak to most of the top umpires.
Well I know for sure that the Umpire of the year was not asked.
Sure he was not the most popular umpire apparently with some clubs but so does that mean he cannot coach
From my angle and speaking to umpires last night at least this year we were set rules and ways of umpiring from week 1
and these did not change throughout the whole system. This is vastly different to previous years.
Most umpires enjoyed training and the drills were well organised and relevant to umpiring on Saturday.
So unless they have somebody else that is very well credentialed to do the job, there will be trouble in the camp.
people will no doubt come back at me, about many things but until you have done the job and know how much work
is involved and also umpired at A grade level, you really have no idea of what is involved.

If it was voted on at a delegates meeting, clubs are well and truly aware that they have 7 votes and league 1. This idea that it is the Dalwood league has been dead and buried for a very long time.
As far as umpires go, as long as they do a decent job on any given match, care factor about anything else is not that high.
I've been around a club whose members have made their fair share of complaints about the Umps and generally it is all P*ss and wind at the end of the day.
We would all hope umps put in a fair effort to make the A grade list, every one else on the field does that as well.
Would like to think that next year's panel is not as troublesome as you indicate, if it is you will just have to pull your blue socks up and make it work.

Umpires coach is only selected and voted on by the league committee. no club involvement

I Personally thought Todd Schulz did well this yr, and made tough decisions through out the yr with suspensions etc for below par performances and he was very approachable and willing to listen and take things on board, I thought the umpiring during the finals series was excellent, they let the boys play. Which is all ya can ask. So very very stiff for him to be stood down.

Todd may have been a little rough around the edges but had the mind set for the role. He also had a very tough gig taking over from Mick as had annoyed a few people the years prior. I understand Dalwood wasn't happy that Todd gave himself the A grade GF as he hasn't done one before but i doubt that is why they moved him on. I would say they must have someone else in line for the role?

WOW. You sure Williams is not sniffing around because Myponga have gone for better options. Rare for Imps to go players who slut themselves around and I hope they don't fall for it in this case .

Are we talking about the same Gareth Williams?? He wanted to go to the Rmfl so he could be closer to his old man who's had some health issues. We were more than happy to keep him - money wasn't his motivation for moving. If Imps don't want him I'm more than happy to give his number to the good people out at Jervois or any other Rmfl club. Really good player & a better bloke. Could ask for anymore out of a recruit or team mate.

Great to see he has changed his ways. He has twice before negotiated with Imps and been knocked back because he was asking too much. Hopefully something can be worked out.

Third time lucky then - your negotiating skills must be getting better! ;)

Heard last night that a young Mannum player had a very serious car accident a wk or so ago and the lad isn't in great shape, not good at all. Good luck to him, his family and the Mannum FC.

Just drove thru Tailem Bend and saw the great Tony "Bones" Hughes running. Is he making a comeback , going for 500 club games ?

Seriously tho , How are the Eagles stacking up for 2015?

Any big recruits ?
