The allegations as reported included an assertion he obtained a benifit for the football club.

I've heard rumours there were some well paid indigeneous is players when he was coach. One can hardly avoid suspecting that there was a connection.

Yes they are the allegations as I understand them.... and what MAY have happened.... I suggest you look at the wording a little bit, and see if you can make a connection/difference or not between the club and the individuals....

Only you could put allegedly in one sentence and then follow it up with unfounded rumours.

I guess we might find out more when the details are alleged during sentencing submissions. One would also assume that the club was investigated by SAPOL/ICAC and I'm not aware of anyone else being prosecuted.

I wonder:
were Onkas good, were Uraidla bad, or a little of both.
Did I hear right it was late in the game that Onkas hit the lead.

I thought both sides played well. Have heard Uraidla were down 8 starting A graders, while we are missing 4.
Onkas hit the lead 2 minutes into the final term after 2 quick goals, Uraidla then kicked 2 pretty quickly to regain the lead, then we kicked the last 2 late in the game. Ball went back to the centre & siren sounded approximately 3 seconds after ball up.

I would happily pay $10....if I didn't have to take a budget!

We actually had 5 starting A graders out (Tanner, Hausler, Heiser, Wilson-King & I forgot young Dan Schoell before)
We're not doing too bad this year injury wise, can't remember if it was last year or the year before we had 23 unavailable, either injured or away, at one stage 10 of which were A graders.

I would have thought that is a pretty typical number 5 to 6.
I heard Hahndorf had 7 from their A grade squad missing on the weekend.
It also depends on who they are. If it is player 1-10 trouble, if it is player 25-30 a little easier to cover I guess.

On the weekend we had the following out;

Bottin, Munn, Pitson, Jacky, Harradine, Desengo, Cross, Beard, Shearwood and Tagliaferri. With a few of those being our key big guys it really hurts but shit happens. Onkas last year had an awful run with injury and Hahndorf the year before had a horrid run with injury.

Spot on batman, it tends to go in cycles doesn't it.
That is why depth is so important. It is virtually impossible to win a flag with 25 A graders.
I would have thought it takes at least 30 reasonable footballers, maybe more.
But nothing can replace having your top 5-7 players playing at least 15 minor round games, and all finals!

Correct, he was suspended for 1 match but appealed the decision and ended up with 5

Seems quite a harsh suspension. Couldn't have happened to a better club

Heard it happened at 1/2 time when umpire was trying to take a whizz (umpys must share the toilet and showers with the home team ??).

Raises the question how many other oval facilities have the umpys change with the players ?
