 Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Bit disappointing the lack of acknowledgement for a former club President that died during the week. By all reports Barry Wyman did a lot for the Rovers.

 Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Waikerie won by eight goals I think. One quarter again let the Panthers down - this time it was the first.
Was Miller reported for his tackle on Daniel Proud?

Was Miller reported for his tackle on Daniel Proud? Was he sent off? If not then obviously umpire thought therewas nothing in it. Since when has a tackle been reportable?

I have seen players reported for lesser tackles. DK, as far as I know Proudy is ok. Seemed ok while laying on the stretcher waiting for the ambulance to come. They were taking him to hospital more as a precaution I understand. I headed home after the game and didn't get back to the club.

 Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Update on Proudy, his neck was stiff and sore after Saturday. He did eventually end up at the Panther Prom on Saturday night but wasn't up for much partying. Will know later in the week if he'll be available for this week's match against Renmark.
Further on Saturday night, LNFC B grade coach Travis Dubrich was so excited by cousin Greg's scintillating goal in the B grade on Saturday that he tried to achieve his own highlight by building a beer glass tower. It got as high as him before predictably collapsing with dramatic effect. Doobs was last seen on the dancefloor with a walking stick and singing into a microphone commandeered from Evan 24/7.

 Re: Riverland Football Chatter
good news about proudy thanks for the update DW. whats happened in berri V renmark going by the early scores renmark could have put them away in the 1st half, was the weather a factor or was benno in some goal kicking yips. are Loxton a chance for a top 2 finish? are Barmera the real deal?

Renmark peppered the goals early but were a bit wayward, it would have been nice to nail a few more goals with the wind. The lads had a good crack and the final scoreline wasnt a true reflection of the contest. Benno played midfield all day and got a shitload of ball, and hardly ventured into the forward 50. Was the dominant player on the ground.

 Re: Riverland Football Chatter
I thought the tackle on Daniel Proud was reportable. No effort to go for the footy at all, grabbed Proud's head and pulled him head first into the ground. From my view, didn't appear much different to a spear tackle. Umpire didn't report the Waikerie player and there was a heated discussion between umps at the break as to whether it was a reportable offense. A sour note on what was a pretty good performance from Waikerie, especially in the first half.

 Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Last three rounds of RFL B grade are going to be very interesting:
Barmera 11/2 22 59.26 Waikerie 10/3 20 62.57 Renmark 6/7 12 51.17 Lox Nth 5/8 10 46.52 Berri 5/8 10 45.47 Loxton 3/10 6 35.99
Round 14 Lox v Ber Ren v Lox Nth Barm v Waik
Round 15 Barm v Ren Waik v Lox Lox Nth v Ber
Round 16 Lox Nth v Lox Ber v Barm Waik v Ren
Barmera-Monash and Waikerie secure with double chance - but either team could take top. A win to Renmark on weekend will secure them a top four spot. Loxton probably the only team out of the race as even if they did win all three remaining games, their percentage would hurt them.
The Loxton North v Berri game in round 15 is probably the crucial one for those sides.

 Re: Riverland Football Chatter
What is going on with Cobby in the Independents? A couple of shock losses in the past few rounds means they are going to miss finals. Are players missing or are they just down on confidence?

Are players missing or are they just down on confidence? The weekend was the first time I've ever come across them, and they came across as a side playing without much passion or purpose. Still seemed to be searching for a player or two a half hour before the game. Got roasted at half time and didn't really respond. They are definitely a few rungs below the current top 4 based on what I saw. Their F/F (I think Tilbrook) seemed to have taken the angry pills and spent the whole game mouthing off about the Cobby young defenders and the gameplan they were employing.

DW, not sure where you've got your ladder from but sporting pulse has North a game behind both Berri and Renmark. North play both in the next fortnight, so if they win both they most likely will qualify. Lose one and they will rely on results going their way. I think they're good enough to make it. They've played some good footy lately and Sat's game was a pretty good standard. Sporting pulse also had Renmark kicking 9 goals in the last quarter to steam roll Berri. Not a bad effort in a 20 min quarter against a team fighting for a finals berth.
