What are the thoughts on these players??? Marc Farmer was a incredible player his speed an agility were mind boggling, Maxwells brut strength was absolute superior, and Butchy Marsten was a tough as nails full back, from what ive been told he was as hard as they come, i saw him lay a tackle that put Doggy Beaumont into the next week??? What are the thoughts.

Yes Farmer was a great player a few years ago, his commitment, his pace, his abiltiy to get around players easily were all factors in him being good player. An infamous pub brawl led to his demise from A grade football where he injured his arm. Now plays occassional B grade game where signs of his brilliance still show through his now aging and fat body.

Ahhh yes that brawl with Dave Benson in the Crafers pub, a real shame really because he could have been a HFL legend.

that brawl with dave benson was a real cracker...but in the end farmer came out on top with benson waking up in the hospital...he just didnt have the strength to match farmer

I dont no about that bobby davis, Marc was not renownd for his strength, more his pace. I am not doubting Farmer winning I am saying he was neevr a huge body, i believe if he did have a bigger body maybe 5 to 6 more kgs, i reckon he would have played league football.

Surely you aren't referring to former HFL players Leon Maxwell (Hahndorf) and Butch Marston (Echunga)?
If you are, Maxwell was a handy player when they managed to unglue his lips from Matt Cooper's a*** and Marston, while a good player was a thug of the highest caliber.

Leon Chumpy maxwell was a great player not blessed with alot of skill, but he could put the ball down the runners throats almost every bounce!!!

Ahh, so did Lihou actually play in the Hills after his SANFL career and not before? I remember Hauth trying out for Glenelg in the mid to late 80's, he wouldn't have been old enough to play in the Hills in the 70's..

I remember Hauth for being a good player (wasn't a bad tennis player either), and an unfortunate event, that for sensitive reasons i wont go into on here.

if farmer had the dedication he could have been the next marc murphy. unfortunately for some his attraction to the brews sent his football career down the toilet
